One thing that I know it takes is successful leadership and management. That's just common sense. I'm smart enough to know that's only one piece of the puzzle.

As I have said for the last 5 years, is everyone that thinks they can do better and knows all the answers, there has been 2 or more tracks up for lease every year............SHOW US DONT TELL US !.
I didn't start this to be another "what would you / could you do to run a track". I'm just tired of what seems to be a growing theme in the area that tracks are hurting and that it's due to poor fan support and car turnout. . My whole point was that the tracks in this area that could be considered "suffering" are Dublin, Clary's, and Wayne County. All I know in what short time I've been a fan is that these tracks are "suffering" due to management issues. I personally think that Clary's also suffers as far as fan and driver count due to location, in comparison to some of the other tracks.

Again- this isn't an "arm chair" thread. I'm simply trying to get folks to stop perpetuating what is most likely a myth.

Well, Mr. Hanson - - you are correct again!

my imaginary track has excellent management, cheap concessions with great gourmet food, large purses, full fields of cars in every class, competition is very close in each class – anyone could win, nobody has ever been caught cheating, nobody has ever been in a fight, the bathroom never floods or runs out of toilet paper, never had a rain-out, is advertised on every radio/TV station and newspaper in a five state region, never had a hole in the track (due to the "magic water"), teams have full sponsorship with a waiting list of sponsors with cash-in-hand and the drivers have never had a complaint – it’s all good!

However, due to the location of this great track… it will not be operating this year! I’m not sure if it is for lease either….

I think we need to launch a campaign to relocate Brickmaker Speedway.

Advertising is a great idea!! I know that up here in Virginia that there are people that have lived in this town all there life and don't even know we have a race track or where it is located. Winchester has a population of about 20,000. NOW THAT IS BAD!!

We try as often as possible to promote our track where ever we go, public appearances and everything we do.

You say that new people are moving into the area...then reach out to them. REMEMBER the younger generation is the future of RACING!!!
