No argument there. I don't see what good it will do not digging up the hard stuff underneath. But then again I have no idea how to prepare one either.

What about all the rocks and roots that are in the pictures. Man that dirt looks like fill dirt for a dirt road and not a race track. Not good

Re: CLR Track Work Pics - 12-26-2007, 05:35 PM

i went out there the other day with my dad and looked at it. it doesnt look like they have touched the track since about a month ago when i went. the only difference was the truck was facing the other direction with a flat tire on it. i hope this does get finished before racing season. time is getting short and alot of work has to be done. im sure they will be ready but they better get on it. cant wait to race at clr some this year.

They still have some time before the season starts, so I'm sure they will get it done. I'm just glad to see that County Line is trying to improve the racing surface. I think any track that tries to improve things for the fans and drivers should be applauded.

PS: the track will look different this year with the new clay...all the more reason to buy calendars and photos from 2007. Oh, RJ, that last sentence just appeared, I didn't write it...lol.

if they are going to tear up the old then why did they dump the new on top of it it is going to be harder to tear it up with the new clay on top of it

Re: CLR Track Work Pics - 12-28-2007, 09:33 PM

putting a new surface on a race track does not mean you have to cut (disk or scarifier) the old surface.. If you got with enough new dirt, the old surface does not need to be disturbed, but you need 10 -12 inches (deep)of new dirt, if not, the turns well chuck out. Putting less then 10 inches, the old track needs to be cut or it should be torn up (disk).
