Re: North Wilkesboro Speedway 2010

They said that they have checked or will be checking the schedules around the area to make sure that they do not overlap other race track's scheduled events!

Also, if this happens, I hope they don't plan it the same weekend as the N/S Shootout at Concord. If the CRA is there again (and based on this year's race, I don't see why they wouldn't be) that would just hurt both races as far as fans and car count.

North Wilkesboro was not listed on either the norther or southern mod tour schedules released this weekend. Mods were always a good show at NW.

I hope they can schedule some open wheel racing there next year. USAC, ISMA and HOSS were all interested the last time the track almost came back to life.
I wasnt saying they would run on track at SAME TIME. I was talking about promoting the race together on the same day but as 2 races.
I dont care when they schedule it long as they schedule it. CRA shouldnt even have been at concord promoting the race pass should have!

Re: North Wilkesboro Speedway 2010

CRA shouldn't have been at Concord? Why not? What do you have against the CRA? I think they are a damn good sanctioning body (same people that own Winchester Speedway in Indiana) and have stepped up to the plate to help save big time SLM racing. It was great seeing Johnny Van Doorn running at Concord.

Remember, only reason CRA got involved was due to ASA-Southeast bailing. Perhaps PASS was asked and they decided to PASS? Maybe the Rowe's had something else to do that weekend.

No matter, the CRA race was successful (good field of cars and good racing) and will be televised. Personally, I hope they continue to sanction more shows in this area. They are a good sanctioning body.

How can say that crap they stepped and helped save slm racing? Slm racing was dead in this area until PASS revived it. And NO PASS wasnt asked to promote the race!!!!!!!

Then you say you hope they sanction more shows in the area, just what the southern region needs another slm series!! At the start of the year you had CRA south which failed, SPLM series which Failed, ASA RC Cola/Moonpie which failed and then GAS is barely floating. PASS was here several years ago when we needed somebody to step up and they did. Real smart saying the comment about the Rowes

How can I say CRA is helping save SLM? I'm not looking at SLM from a NC or regional perspective. I'm looking at it from the national perspective and CRA is a major player. They have stepped up to try and save Nashville and the All American 400. Other than the Snowball, I consider that to be one of THE premier SLM events. They are involved with South Alabama (home of the Rattler). They run the Winchester 400. They keep SLM alive in a region (Indiana/Ohio) that is pretty much dominated by sprint car racing and dirt late model. The Luckett family took over Winchester Speedway (which I consider to be THE best paved track in the country) and saved it from ruin.

I won't deny PASS has helped SLM in this area. They saw a good business opportunity and went for it.

Yes, the southeast can always stand another good series. Personally, I believe free market competition makes the overall product better. As a fan, I have no personal allegiance to any series. I like CRA, Main Event, ASA, GAS, FASCAR, Blizzard Series and PASS.

Sorry if you don't like my opinions, but, as a fan, I don't feel PASS has sole rights to be the only sanction in this area. Nor do I believe that a handful of races sanctioned by another group (CRA) will hurt PASS.

Your sensitivity leads me to believe you are directly involved with PASS in some way.
