    That's right,Glen Mcduffie and the car had "United Uniforms" on the quarter panels..!!

    It's good to see that people still remember the good times and the moments out at the track full of racing, fighting and bullnose drivers who gave it there all.
    my Dad raced at Leland and the old Fayetteville speedways in the 70's until Leland and Old fayetteville tracks went away and the new fayetteville speedway
    at that time came in as a Paved track and my dad stated if it aint dirt it aint racen and got out. Here is a picture at the old leland raceway.Click image for larger version.

    Yup, that's Leland........never had an inside guard rail, just dirt dumped around the light poles!

    Don't remember who it was but one Saturday night one of the Cars it the dirt around the light pole and went up the pole. I think
    it was Glen corky boy Williams but not for sure.

    After hearing unfounded rumors of a legendary Brunswick County dirt track, Bret McCormick, sports editor for the Southport, NC "State Port Pilot", contacted me about a year ago and wrote this article on Leland Raceway "The Outlaw Track".......

    Definitely remember Joe Lane, #21, strong competitor everywhere.
