If so, will people be able to walk down to the infield to watch the races? i take pictures and like to get them from the infield, plus you get to really experience how fast the cars are going by standing down there. Wouldnt be much of a point of buying a pit pass if i couldnt walk down there. just asking and my 2 cents.

Concord, NC –
Nov. 18, 2009 –

The 2009 season is barely in the record books and already competitors are turning their focus to 2010, with plenty of excitement building for the 39th Florida DIRTcar Nationals by UNOH in February.

One racer who will be ready to roll on Feb. 2 at Volusia Speedway Park is NASCAR veteran Kenny Wallace, who on Wednesday afternoon was first person to submit his 2010 DIRTcar Member application – in person, no less – to the World Racing Group office in Concord, N.C.

“Volusia is right around the corner and my team is building a new DIRTcar UMP Modified right now,” Wallace said. “I'm excited to get my card, but I do have an advantage since I only live two miles from the office.”

The 39th Florida DIRTcar Nationals by UNOH turns Volusia Speedway Park into Florida's raciest nightspot from Feb. 2-13, featuring World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, World of Outlaws Late Models, Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modifieds, UMP Modifieds, UMP Late Models and All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars. Special ticket packages, including a FREE fan pit pass, are available by calling 386-985-4402.

To bring everyone up to speed about my ankle

I went to an orthopedic surgeon second opinion on 6th. of October [another doctor @ BEEBE HOSPITAL...

I went to an orthopedic surgeon second opinion on 6th. of October [another doctor @ BEEBE HOSPITAL and a different hospital that did the first operation] about my ankle and ask him why it is still so sore, and by the way, getting worst, and I have very little stability without wearing a brace.

It was operated on June 10, 2008 and reconstructed with pins, rods, and screws at that time. I ended up with a 10" rod on the outside of my left ankle, 1 - 2" pin, and a plate 1 1/2" by 1 1/2" on the right (inside) and 10 screws to put it back together. It was broken in 4 places

So he took the ankle in his hand and he said it felt like a bag of marbles when you roll them around. So he took some x-ray’s [big surprise, right] to see what was going on.

He told me, Sir, you sure can stand a lot of pain can't you, right now you should bouncing off the ceiling, and on top of that I don't believe you walked in here.

He then said that he wanted me off the foot as much as I can. Well guess what Doc, the way that damn thing hurts, and you won't have to tell me the second time about that.

So without writing a medical journal about the ankle, it has collapsed and now it's bone against bone and most of the cartridge is gone and has got to be fused together. He gave me 4 opinions #1 leave it the way it is [not an opinion], #2 Fuss it together, #3 have an ankle replacement done in Baltimore, #4 if all else fails, we may have to amputate it at the joint [not an opinion either].

He said considering everything in this situation with my age, my heart, my weight, ect. he highly recommended that I have it fussed, so that's the path we are going. What the operation is about , is to remove any remaining cartilage, remove as much hardware as he can, and fuss the leg bone and the foot bone together, and then the ankle will not move at all.

This is a pretty serious operation and I should be in the hospital 3 or 4 days and then 2 to 3 maybe even 4 months of serious NON-WEIGHT BEARING [ABSOLUTELY NONE] recovery, so I guess it's back to square one and the wheel chair for some time.

Grated my weight is not in my favor, but in the same token, the last operation should not have done what it did. It simply collapsed. What happened was a part of a bone above the joint in which one the screws was place gave out [broke] and that compromised the last reconstruction operation, and then the other screws and rod where jeopardized and gave up.

As he said, there are plenty of people walking around out there with the same operation and they are getting along ok.

I saw the x-ray and it looks like something shifted and bent and snapped the screws off. He said there are many people heavier then I am with the same operation and have had no problems what so ever with it. There is 3 broke off screws and 4 bent ones out of the 10. Also the 10”rod is distorted and somewhat bent.

The operation is Friday November the 20th. Oct. The doctor’s name is Roman Orsini, and the operation will be done at Beebe hospital, and I will probably be in their 2 maybe 3 days. Before that takes place I have to have had a whole series of test done, Heart stress test and EKG and an echo-cardio gram and heart Cath. All of that because of the 8 heart attacks. Go back the first of December to get all the ins and outs from the heart Cath, but at lease I can get the ankle done now.

With the operation the only alignment is getting the top joint lined up with the bottom joint, then he will insert 3 or 4 screws to pull the joint together so the fussing healing process can start.

I guess in light of it all, as I say “Sorry about your luck fella”,
Well as today, we are good to go for this operation for Friday morning sometime.

Between Judy and I, we will keep everyone update as time progresses and how the recovery [R/R] goes along.

She has me set up really nice room in one of our bedrooms with most everything I will need for the healing period.

Sorry this is so long, but I did my best to get the information so everyone will know just what is going on.

ALSO IT WILL A WHILE BEFORE THE RACERCHASER IS BACK ON AND IN HIGH GEAR TURNING LEFT.
