I race a Modified at Virginia Motor Speedway and we have a possible off week coming up on the 29th. I was wondering 2 things how often do you race modifieds at Wythe and my biggest question, if I came down there would I even be allowed to run with out having to change anything? hope to hear from others on this and that I can come down.

you talking open wheeled modified?..we run crate engines..to see our rule book,go to www.wytheraceway.com (http://www.wytheraceway.com) on the left hand side, you will see rules..will take a minute to load, once loaded, writing will be small, use your magnifying tool to enlargen the writing..hope this helps you out and hopefully see you come down and race with us..keep me updated if you come and will come over and help you out any way i can..i work at the track, ride the 4-wheeler in the pits..we have an average of around 12 open wheels..2nd year running..had 6 last year..look to see that number grow as the year goes on and into next year..

also,if you can come down that wekend, that is our fan appreciation night..all cars lined up on front stretch and fans come down and get pictures and autographs of the drivers..some drivers have treats for the kids, like candy and some have pictures of their cars and pass them out..always a packed house that night..we run our open wheels, plus 6 other divisions every saturday night, unless we have a clash race or a fastrak race..we have a schedule on our site,so you can check that out..

ok I read the rules and all it says is a 602 engine whats consist of ? I know I don't have a crate engine and neither does some of the other guys I run with that are also always looking for some where else to run on off weeks. For us you basically cant have more than 385 cubic inches and the intake is the only thing allowed to be aluminum, and we have to run a two barrel carburator, also would quick change rears and wide 5 hubs be allowed, also we all run hoosier D-40 tires. these are just some of the things I can think of right off the back for now, I could probally get 8 - 12 cars to come along if we can run there that why I'm asking a lot of questions

Try calling (276)228-3118. This is Fred Brown's business. He is the owner of the Wythe Raceway Track. He should be able to answer your questions, if not maybe he can direct you to someone that can.
