Feathers Wins Round 2 of Shootout

Winchester’s Bo Feathers edged out Andy Anderson by a bumper to win round two of the Winchester/Hagerstown shootout Friday night at the Winchester Speedway in action sponsored by B & W Excavating. Feathers started on the outside front row and seemed to have the 40 lap feature in hand until a Jason Covert spin on lap 32 brought out a caution, with Anderson, in 2nd place, on the back bumper of Feathers on the restart. Anderson took the high side and appeared to be headed for victory after getting the lead on lap 36, but on the final lap, with Anderson not shutting the door on Feathers, Feathers made a daring move on turns 3 and 4 on the inside, and was declared the winner in the closest finish this year at the speedway. Gary Stuhler, who had to qualify by winning the consolation, started 19th , but finished 3rd. JT Spence was 4th and Jeremy Miller 5th. Interestingly, it was Feathers and Anderson who finished one and two in the first shootout in Winchester on April 15th. Needless to say, Stuhler was the hard charger of the event. Heats went to Jimmy Bernheisel, Jonathan DeHaven, and Anderson.
