View Full Version : The BURM at Clarys

Why does Clarys have the burm at the bottom of the track?????? Takes away from racing room and causes more cautions. Why not use big tractor tires on the inside of the track like the dirt track at Charlotte does? How much time was wasted Saturday night trying to remove cars that got stuck on the burm? At least 15 minutes, maybe 20! With rain in the area ,that time that was wasted could have been enough time for the super streets to run thier feature.
While I'm speaking of wasting time, with rain in the area, why not cut out driver interviews? Time spent talking to the winner and taking pictures was time lost that could have been used for super streets or maybe junkyards to run their features. DON'T get me wrong. I'm all for driver interviews, they deserve credit, but not when there is rain in the area and time is limited.

The burmn does seem to do more harm than good some nights.

JC cut it down some before hot laps. It will be right for July 5 & 6.

A burm might cause a car to get stuck and get some damage, but you have to do something so people don't try and run on the infield. And tractor tires can destroy race cars (I've seen it many times), plus when the tractor tires get hit, the tow truck needs to come out to put them back in place anyway. I think the burm is the way to go as long as it is kept the right height.

MARCIA, JC, MONK
NO TRACTOR TIRES, THOSE D--- THINGS DO MORE HARM AND YOU WASTE MORE TIME GETTING CARS OUT OF THEM, THEN ANY DIRT BURM YOU COULD EVER PUT OUT THERE............
I HAVE BEEN TO MANY TRACKS THAT HAVE THEM AND THEY ARE NOT THE ANSWER, YOU REALLY MESS UP A CAR WHEN YOU HIT ONE OF THOSE THING. TRACTOR TIRE WERE MADE FOR TRACTORS, NOT FOR RACE TRACKS........

Something needs to be done, but take the burm away for goodnes sake.
PS: Did anyone see the #3 car of David Dick hit the burm at the Clarys Clash race? He might as well hit a tracot tire the way it sent he car spinning.

The burm is much better for the sake of the cars and drivers.......
We do not have the crew or equipment that the Lowe's Dirt track has that is what is taking so long, they will get better in time........ The only thing I think JC needs to do is cut in a smooth exit out of the infield on the back stretch and front stretch, so a car once in the infield can get out without sustaining anymore damage.

Since people are complaining about the burm Put up a gaurd rail on the inside of the track. People want be fussing about the burm anymore. At the same token you might have more tore up race cars. Its a no win situation and people have to deal with what the track decides.

:surf: Anythings better than tractor tires!!! I seen a latemodel hit one and it bounced him back into race traffic and it wasn't pretty. Maybe we need to make a line like nascar and let Marcia decide if ya went below it?? I know she would make an honest call!! That way no equipment is messed up and the drivers can't say they weren't warned about the penalty the track accesses. Hey just a thought and Again I know thoughts are like donkeys behinds!!

Great point. Some of you need to get out more often. Clarys is not the only track with a burm. Some have them on the outside edge of the track. Ask any driver if they want a burm were the worse thing is they get stuck, get a little extra dirt under the car and it takes a little extra time to remove them or ask them if they want a inside rail or wall that woul tir their car all to hell???????????

I think the berm is way to far up on the track in turns 1& 2 it is very hard to pass on this track the way it is. I loved the rain on the track it helped with the dust.
