Yes, I am in the stands.

It is a Kodal P850 and I am loving it so far. Automatic enough for me but someday I can maybe figure out how to work the manual settings too :wings_rollseyes: .

I get a few more cars each week. It is hard getting all of them in the pits with some of the 'big' haulers on the front row.

I am still perfecting my timing on the action shots.

The P850 Zoom is the second camera in Kodak's new EASYSHARE P-Series of advanced digital cameras. The Easyshare P850 Zoom is a high performance "super zoom" camera for photographers of all experience levels. It incorporates a 36-432mm (35mm equiv) 12x optical Schneider-KREUZNACH VARIOGON zoom lens with image stablization and a high resolution 5.1-megapixel imager for professional-quality prints.

Optical image stabilization, combined with the advanced, hybrid AF system (25 selectable points), provides a 2-stop advantage over non-Image Stabilized systems for better capturing subjects in low light for both still and video. It also minimizes handheld camera shake at longer focal lengths, which is critical when not using a tripod — a scenario found on the sidelines of sporting events, on scenic hiking trails, and during everyday spontaneous picture-taking when carrying a stabilizing device is impractical.

The P850 model shares many elements of the more advanced Easyshare P880, including 30 fps VGA video with single-frame still-extraction and trim/cut/splice/merge editing abilities. Thanks to cutting-edge Motion JPEG technology, record longer, TV-quality videos with sound — up to 80 continuous minutes depending on card capacity — while using less memory storage. EASYSHARE Software version 5 even makes combining, rotating, and adding music to video clips a breeze. The camera’s bright, high-quality 2.5-inch color LCD and EVF simplify working with, viewing and sharing videos.

Other features include a hot shoe for using more powerful flash units; PASMC and extensive preset scene modes; multiple burst modes for action shooting; a live histogram; highlight/shadow clipping displays; RAW/TIFF/JPEG support; and lithium ion battery. It is compatible with EASYSHARE printer docks, the IMAGELINK print system, and PICTBRIDGE direct-print technology.

Sounds like your doing and feeling just about like I did a year ago. Your pics are already good and with more practice they'll just keep getting better.

I will IM from home if I see you online. I would love pointers.

I would like to see what this camera will do from the infield at night. I am looking a new camera myself. I like the daytime pics but would like to see some night pics as well..:smoke: Did it come with a flash?

It has the built in flip up flash, but you can add a P20 Zoom Flash (??) I am planning to go into the pits at least once this year, but dont know when yet.

I have a good friend (photographer) that is going to explain the whole shutter speed thing to me for my night shots when I am on vacation in a couple of weeks. Watch out then!!!

The prints are awesome of some of the daytime shots too. I gave several to the #21 Jamie Fallin team and I have a few more teams to give a couple to this weekend.
