The 25 lap Late Model main event would see polesitter Mike Jewell take the lead right from the start, with Johnny Wheeler, Jason Keltner, Jeff Watson, and Dustin Neat giving chase. Keltner and Watson would immediately begin to battle for the third position on lap 2, continue to mix it up on lap 3, and be in a dead heat for the spot and the start/finish line on lap 4. Watson would finally take the spot on lap 5, as the lead pair of Jewell and Wheeler had put some distance on the rest of the field. The only caution of the race flew on lap 8 when the lapped care of Mike Higdon got crossed up exiting turn two and collected the fourth place running entry of Keltner, ending both drivers evening. Back under green, Jewell and Wheeler would again scoot away from the field a bit, with Watson still third, Neat fourth, and Joey Daniel now fifth. Laps 8 through 10 would see sixth running Lee Devasier pressure Daniel for the five hole, with the pair going door to door on lap 10, before Daniel secured the spot again. With the front trio of Jewell, Wheeler, and Watson pulling away from the rest of the field a bit, Devasier would again try Daniel for fifth on lap 13, but still could not get past the track's defending Late Model track champion. Jewell would lengthen his lead a bit until lap 20, when Wheeler would begin to close in on the race leader, being only a car length off of Jewell as the pair raced off into turn one on the final lap. Jewell would be better on the exit of turn two and it would be all the advantage he needed to see the checkered flag first in his Southern Indiana Rock Drilling/MPC Motorsports/PBM Performance Parts/Scott County Tire sponsored #9 MasterSbilt Race Cars, Mike Bullock Race Engines powered mount. Wheeler, Watson, and Neat would go second through fourth, while Daniel survived a last lap attempt by Devasier to claim fifth as the pair touched exiting turn four, with Devasier spinning across the start finish line in sixth. The rest of the top ten would be Mike McWilliams, Jerry Rutherford, Mike Watson, and Tommy Carlton. Sixteen entrants would see Johnny Wheeler be the SpeeDecals Vinyl Graphics fast qualifier at 16.153 seconds. Jewell would also win the dash, while Devasier scored the heat victory.
