Our prayers and support flow abundantly for our armed forces and their families as well as the leaders of this great nation. MAY God's SPEED be with them all! See you all Friday June 2nd, “Double Points all divisions”
SUPER LATE MODELS
Capturing the pole and the lead at the drop of the green was Greensboro's “The MAN” Ray Tucker. Tucker took complete control of the lead on the first lap but never once could let he eyes off the hardcharging efforts of several drivers for that number one hot seat. Roger Lucas of Apex , and Johnny Stovall were on his back door knocking several laps within the race. However Princeton's Junior Pearce wanted some of the up front action but suffered a flat tire trying to grab the spot. As the laps counted down Tucker held his ground and landed his third victory of the season at WCS. Roger Lucas held on for a strong second. Pearce was able to change tires without losing laps and took it to the finish line for the third place win. Stovall and Rocky Mount's James Batten finished fourth and fifth respectively.
SPORTSMAN
It was Bailey's Tator Liles that was able to capture the checkered flag and his third victory of season in the Sportsman division. Selma's “BIG Mark McDaniels took home the second place win but said we can look out he's going up front. McDaniels will be sporting a new fast and furious engine in two weeks when we return with DOUBLE POINTS in all divisions.
THUNDER and LIGHTING
Starting from the pole was Littleton's “Flying 11” Buddy Isles Sr. Isles set his sights on the checkers and never looked away . He made it a flag to flag win in the 20-lap T&L feature race, his third victory at WCS this season. Jerry MeKeel Jr. did his best to take over the lead but settled for a second place win. Lynn Combs of LaGrange finished third. Rounding out the top five was David McKenzie of Elm City and Alan Worrells. Of Rocky Mount.
ALL STAR V-8's
It was Selma's Dustin Mitchell that started from the Pole of the 15-lap All Star V-8 feature race. Mitchell is a real laid back quiet easy going teenager but folks just give him the steering wheel of a racecar and watch him go. This kid has competed and driven as well as seasoned pros on the race track . He never gives and inch but he's fair , clean and very patient, he never takes away another man's space. Mitchell is probably one of the best on the local racing circuit in training for the “BIG TIMES to come. However Here comes Roanoke Rapid's “Spit FIRE” Ricky Dickens. Dickens was able to seize the moment and take the lead to land his second victory of the season at WCS. Mitchell was close behind for the second place win. Jerry McKeel Sr. Of Middlesex finished third. Newcomer to racing but a life long fan of WCS Alvin R. Davis had him some fun and was still able to finish in the number four spot making this his first ever attempt to drive a race car a very good finish.
SUPER STOCK 4-Cylinders
The Father and Son team . Lynn and Brandon Wells of Kenly battled it out for the 15-lap DASH for CASH. Lynn “Papa” Wells took the victory, showing his son and the fans he's still up front were it counts.
Points will be posted on the website and don't forget Wayne County Speedway will resume Friday Night racing action, June 2nd with Super Late Models and all supporting divisions. “DOUBLE POINTS ALL DIVISIONS”. “CATCH US IF YOU CAN”.
