First of all as the ANNOUNCER I would like to say that was the best racing I think I have ever saw not just in the Carolina Clash Race but in all of the Races. Maybe some people weren't aware or didn't realize that Eastern North Carolina got hit by Severe Thunderstorms and Heavy Torrriental Rains all Friday Afternoon and Overnight . Yes the weather was perfect for RACING on Saturday however the damage was done and thats where the Effort came to play for Fayetteville Staff to try to prep the 4/10 mile Facility the best they could and I have to say THANK YOU TO ALL THE FANS !!!!! who stuck it out throgh the whole track prep and the Lenghty Red Flags as well as Cautions. I didn't get home till almost 5:00am Sunday morning but if I had to I would go through it all over again. Another thing do you know on the bottom of Race Schedules or Wrestling Cards it says: "Schedule or Card Subject To Change Without Notice" Maybe we ought to add TIME to that .. Fayetteville Motor Speedway Staff and Owners Ed Longahny & Larry Norris do the best they can to offer a great racing card every Saturday Night and sometimes everything goes well ....and sometimes it don't ..and if it don't ...don't bash any racetracks for the effort they try to put out to make the show happen for THE FANS and another thing I spoke to alot of drivers after the RACE and they said they would return.. Let's hope this Saturday will be much better.

I know that you have been to hundreds more asphalt races than dirt races, but anytime drivers load up and go home because of track conditions its bad. Everyone that was involved in the race, even the winner said the track condtions were horrible and made for terrible racing........I know as a representative of the track you feel obligated to support them, but to try and convince everyone that it was the best racing you have seen is really going a little far.

First of all CHansen I'm not trying to get remorse from the fans all I was saying was that the FMS Staff did all they could to try to rectify the situation that was on them to try to offer a great show .. and secondly I thought that was the best racing I have seen and called in a long time and that is just a difference of opinion but... the first 9 laps of the CLASH Feature #22 GR Smith,#F1 Mike Duvall,#95 Deno Long,#3 David Dick were punching 3 wide and even 4 wide for the top point. and I really enjoyed watching #1w Ricky Weeks,#1a Scott Autry,#H7 Travis Hair come through the field the Opening 9 Laps like I said it's just a difference of opinion. Honestly as far as me saying it was the best racing I seen in awhile as a matter of fact...November 12, 2005 the $10,000 Super Late Model Race at Clary's Speedway - Brinkleyville,NC was probably the best Late Model Race I have ever saw until Saturday Night .. But like I said It's a difference of opinion!!!
"That not me as a ANNOUNCERS opinion it's just me as a FAN!!!!!!"

Hey Wesley I might believe you about the rain if you guys hadn't watered the track 3 times after 5:00pm. You fumbled the ball now it's time to admit it. Don't blame your own stupidity on mother nature. Rain on Friday didn't keep you from starting before 9:00pm. Rain on Friday didn't make you cut out half the racing. Heats, consi's, features all were shortened and the modified heats were replaced with 2 laps of qualifying. Gee thanks. You need to give something back if you want to eliminate half the show. The SLM feature ended at 2:30am and you guys still had 2 features to go. And that was after shortening all the races. I'm too old to travel 2-1/2 hours each way to put up with that bs so shut up and take your lumps Wes you got it coming. If you want some respect than take a little responsibility.

We all know that was the worst race at FMS in a long, long time. Just as someone associated with the track told me, they deserve the criticism. And I think they do as well. There is nothing nobody needs to hide. We all know the things that went wrong and we know what needs to be fixed. But, Let's give Wesley the chance to give his opinion. I am sure nobody told him to get on here and try to cover up all the **** that went wrong Saturday night. Wesley has enough professionalism about him, I don't think he would do something like that.

We can all agree everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Blaming the weather or the prep crew or the owners will not change what happened. But I've been to races that took all night before. And I've been to rough tracks before (can you say Colossal?). But here is what disappoints me most. FMS had one of the biggest crowds I have ever seen there. They had a chance to put on an awesome show before a huge amount of fans, and they missed the mark, big time. And because of that, some fans may not return.
BUT, I know Ed and Larry will do their best to fix the problems. They have made huge improvements since taking over, and FMS is now a great facility. It's time to let go of last week, and focus on the future. I am one who will continue to support FMS and the other NC dirt tracks.

Wesley as many races you have been too you shoud know that race at FMS Saturday was a load of crap. The only reason they were running 2 and 3 wide was becuase they were bouncing, not racing. After all the rain Friday, they put way too much water down Saturday. Track prep was the worst I have ever seen. They never even tried to fixs turns 3 and 4. Let us know the conditions this week. I hope they are better.
