I am Andy Holt, OLR ofiicial. Alot of you have been asking us for a pure stock class, well I talked to David yesterday morning and he gave me the go ahead to pursue this matter. So here goes, I am gonna contact most of you as possible from the past and future to get some insight and interest. I am looking at the all-american rules and opening them up a little. Things like headers, racing shocks and springs, maybe holley 350 carbs with 8 inch wheels and tires etc. Trying to keep cost at a minimum for people in all-american to make the move and for others to cut back from SS without a lot of cost. With the cost of SS rising and for stock chassis cars struggling to keep up with the late model chassis and tube cars something needs to be done. Stay posted and I will try to keep you informed. I am gonna try to get a meeting together as soon as possible and go over rules and discussions. I am looking towards next year and possibly maybe getting some of you together for the last half of this year if enuff people can get ready. I know alot of cars and drivers sitting home that can be ready in no time. I have talked to about 3 people already and they are real interested. Stay tuned to here and fascar and I will get Lisa to post on the website as soon as we can get it together. Any questions call me. 276-694-4568(home) or 276-952-7010(cell). Cell is my work phone for mostly weekdays and some nights. If not on cell try at home.

how about taking you ss class and just cutting back on some of the stuff, like stroked engines, only stock chassis. that alone would be enough for all of 311 but a few to come race. other stuff that may help make it affordable are like , stock rear's, no quickchange, leaf in the rear, holley 600's that you get off the shelf for 215 dollars, no msd, only stock distributor and ignition module, coil updgrade to keep the stuff burnin, no wide 5's. No bead locks, only original factory heads. and i would agree on stick intake, but since i dont have one, maybe a wieght break on them that do. And a open tire rule. You wanna make it affordable, make it so we can use what we get our hands on. no racing clutches under 7 inches, or stock only. stock transmissions, stock lower control arms, lets us be able to slide the read some, so those of us with out drill presses and expensive welders, dont have to go through 27 bits to drill a hole for the stub on the rear perches. Aint like its adjustable while your riding. No special brake controls... and all the rest of the norms.
just my input.

I heard that some rules were established to combine the Pure Stock and All-American. I need to see them so I can determine is our team can run or not. I'd like to try and stay competitive. Also, will the All-Americans be running Fri?? The web site doesn't reflect it. I know you all are busy. Keep up the good work.

The all-americans are officially pure stock. The rules are on the website as of today. We are not expecting everyone tochange things right now, just as quick as you can. We are trying to give weight breaks etc. to try to help even things out. There is gonna be a meeting about 20 minutes before the regular driver's meeting for the pure stocks to try to explain how these things is gonna work this year. Keep in mind that this is mostly for 2007 but trying to get things in motion for this year. The pure stocks si supposed to be taking the place of the modifieds schedule for the biggest part.

All-American Stock was a fun class. Very in-expensive, and was growing. Had 12 cars last time I was there. I was under the impression that the "pure Stock " Class would be stepped down some, and the All-Americans would need to buy headers and Racing tires. Now it appears that the Pure Stock is very close to the 2002/2003 rules. Its getting pricey for "PoorBoys" to go racing with all the upgrades needed to be competitive. I think your gonna loose more cars than you were going to gain now.. How about the old $500 engine claimer rule that we use to have. Add that and that will bring things closer together.
What started out as a good Idea has gone to far in my opinion.
Thanks to the track for having a great surface to race on and wish everyone luck Friday.

Give it a chance we've had 1 race and there wasn't that much difference between the old AA's and the Pure's. There is alot of cars being fixed at this moment so the class is gonna grow every week. these changes are to help you grow as a driver and give you more options. If I thought it was gonna hurt the class I wouldn't have done it. The engines are gonna be strictly policed so there are no high dollar engines.

We'll give it a try. Anyone with any used tires and 8" rims that will fit a Regal or "Monte Carlo"call me at 732-9878 (John Mullins). Hoosier D27-15 is what I think they use to run.
Thanks for the reply Andy.
