I see that the Fastrak Dirt Late Models with their crate engines will be at OLR this friday. Never saw the touring series compete, but the guys around this area with the crate engines give the guys with the built engines a run for their money. I hope that the guys that normally race the crate engines give the touring guys a run at OLR. One difference that I noticed in the rules at OLR and Fastrak is the weight. Fastrak rules are:
Engine GM 602 355hp 390 lbs Torque Car Weight 2250
GM 604 400hp 400 lbs Torque Car Weight 2400
Fastrak Crate 430hp 410 lbs Torque Car Weight 2450
OLR Rules are: Weight for GM engines: Minimum 2350 lbs with driver.
Just don't want to see any of the OLR guys work real hard for a great finish, and have a rule infraction mess them up

The weight rule on the Oak Level Rules page is wrong. We run by Fastrak rules. I think our "local" crate cars will do just fine against the touring cars. I have already run a touring race at Antioch in April and we ran just fine. Me and Brandon both have went to Wythe and run this year and both run in the top five before we both had trouble, so I think we should do just fine.

I was talking with someone yesterday that said they could run the same gear at Wythe that they ran at Oak Level in the Crate Class 'cause Oak Level is pretty much a momentum track. Any truth to this? What gears do the front runners use?

Heck no, you can't run the same gear. I run about 80 points different from Oak Level to Wythe. Most of us are somewhere between a 6.28 and a 6.42.
