Is it just me or does anyone think any effort was put into preparing the track surface fro the Clash show last night, That was the worst racing surface I think I have ever seen.
That G.R. Smith is a driver that you need to watch. he's the real deal.
And Jack Pennington and Mike Duval are bullit proof these guys along with Noel Tucker and Benji Cole put on one whale of a show considering the track conditions. All the drivers that made the clash show last night put on a good show but really took a beationg because of the pot holes in the track.

Maybe or Maybe not, but our car stayed out about 3 laps and came in because it was to rough. It's not worth tearing up the car.

Im sure they prepped the track as much if not more than they always do...............But from my experience with Dirt Track racing, anytime there is a lot of rain the day before the tracks tend to come apart.

Thanks for the reply Mr. Hansen, I figureed they had prepared the track but when I got there they had just watered the track and the roll in cars were making laps the track was saturated, wonder if less watering would have make much difference?

Im no Soil expert, that would be MiniStock77 Jon Van Zant....lol but Im sure that it was saturated deep, and by watering they were only trying to wet the upper surface that had dried by the wind and sun......It is a catch 22.....if they had not watered it, might have been so dusty you would not have been able to see.....sometimes you cant win for losing....lol

Iam gonna tread real easy and slow here, cause Iam so p--- off its not that funny. Some time ago it was posted somewhere else about the new clay and how great it would be. I posted then that it would not work and as you see last night it didnt. You can not just lay new clay down on top of another surface. It has to have time to cure and work its way down into the old kinda blend it together so to speak. The way you do this is with time and water lots of water andsome light not very deep cutting and more time and water. If not what you get is a tramplin affect , that what they had last night. The old clay is just sitting on top with belive it or not air pockets in between the old surface. It retains to much water like that for one, and stays way to soft, it acts like a sponge. Now that that lesson on clay is over off to another one lol. With the two inches of rain friday, yes the track needed a little more water on sat. But before i got there even before they watered it the motor grader got stuck had to be yanked out. Now it wouldnt have took a very smart person to know the track was already wet. So please would someone tell me why they watered the track from 2pm untill 6pm non stop??????? Please tell me. Then I belive they had a revolt by the purestocks and superstreets when the track at 630 wanted them to role the track in with still standing poddles of water in the turns. All of this plus the track coming apart lead to a late start. But iam not mad over any of the above, I understand things happpen and mistakes are made. What Iam mad about after 90 bucks for pit passes and 30 bucks for food and Iam still there at whatever god awful time it was, why cut the laps of the feature race. The feature that most all of the fans still there came in the first place to see. If this hadnt been done I would have left not happy but still understanding. But as the case is I feel I got short changed all the way around. If you are gonna cut the main event by25%, shouldnt I get 25% of my money back?

Another complaint of mine besides the track falling apart, there were too many personal vehicles inside the pit! I believe there were just as much personal vehicles as were race cars inside! It was hard to back the racecars in and out because of the personal vehicles. Some racecars and tow trucks were parked sideways because of personal vehicles were parked where racecars should have gone!

The announcer blamed the rain on Friday for the wet track but I got there at 5:00pm and they watered the track 3 times after I got there. Well the track surface was a disgrace and that's all I can say about that. Not starting the show until almost 9:00 pm was a bad decision too. I drove two and a half hours to get there and not 1 lap of green flag racing until almost 10:00 pm. I wish they would cut down to 2 or 3 classes when they have a big show so people can get home at a respectable hour. People don't drive over a hundred miles to go to see street stocks and 4 cyl. If you want to run 7 classes maybe you should start at 5:00pm so you can get the cars qualified by 7 or 8 and then you can start features before 9. They shortened every race even most of the heats and the supers got over at 2:30 am. They still had 2 features to go. How about running the supers first when your running late so your travellers can get out early. I hate the 2 lap for a flat and tugging on the sheet metal on the racetrack. I'm sick of cars stopping on the racetrack for a flat or to get a fender tugged on thats what pits are for. It just makes the show take forever. I like to see racing not cars riding under yellow. I'll never go back to Fayetteville.

It's funny how a track can have one bad night and everyone want's to make them the worse track they have ever attented..

Everyone remember Clary's last year, big $10,000 to win race ended in the weeee am hours.. I remember, a few said they would not go back to that track either and they did.:icon_beerchug:

It's easier to trash a track, and make it worse than it really is, then to make sugestions and try to help correct the issue.

This would be a true statement if this wasnt the first time. This is everytime they have more than 10 true slm on that track. It goes away. Track conditions were not the hold up at clarys the first race. Also it hasnt been a problem since. I offered some consuctrive help when they first mentioned they were going to just lay out new clay only 3 days before racing on it. But hey what do I know. But you mark my words if they do not dig out that track and redue it it will never be right. No matter how deep they try and cut it that wet clay is gonna just sit there and rut up every race.

Well, I'm going to give my two cents. I am somewhat disappointed in the track conditions. I am not no expert on track surface conditioning nor am I a soil expert. So, I'm not going to sit here and bit*h about it. I do know, the condition of the track caused some drivers that would have had a damn good chance of running up front to break or just say the hell with it. What rides my azz is, the fact that they cut the feature race to 30 laps. Alot can and does happen in 10 laps. As late as it was, what's 10 more minutes gonna hurt. But, I am over this and I am gonna continue to keep going to FMS and I just hope the track situation is fixed soon. :icon_beerchug:

This was the worst race I've seen in years. Yes they were running 3 wide at times, but thats because they were bouncing around trying to miss the ditches in the turns. They cut down turns 1 and 2 but never touched 3 & 4. Why was that? I can't say I won't go back to FMS in the future but I'll be reading post to see if the place is better the next few weeks.

So they did not farm the track all night? Heck, J.C. gets back out with the motorgrader 1,2 times a night. I hate that FMS had a bad night and hope they get it together!!

Though most people were paying attention to the clash race.. I'll tell you who got messed over. D.J. Tyndall led the entire limited late model race and was about to take his first career win when his motor blew on the last lap. Why did his motor blow? Because his rear tires were bouncing off the ground so high the motor over reved to more than 8K rpms and exploded. Anytime a track's conditions are so horrible it costs not only the win of a lifetime but also a motor worth thousands of dollars, something needs to be done to fix the problem. I'm sure he is not the only one that had the same problem. D.J. has a good team and he will be back next weekend, but it will set him back most of the season.
