As of May 5, 2006, DUBLIN & FAYETTEVILLE will be teaming up together by running a Friday night & Saturday night combination! Contact Mike McLaurin or Larry Norris for more information! Dublin will begin racing on FRIDAY NIGHTS beginning May 5, 2006!

I certainly hope that the management at Dublin Motor Speedway got some input regarding this change from their loyal drivers. If this is a ploy to get more cars at both Dublin and Fayetteville the owners may be surprised with the turn out come May 5th. Most of the drivers have other obligations during the week and Saturday is a much better day for them to race. I really hope Dublin reconsiders this change. If things are not changed back to Saturday then they may lose their drivers and fans. Did they take that into consideration??

I dont think its gonna be aa problem for them 2 tracks. They were not pulling a huge car count on sat at dublin or many fans to begin with. I dont like it cause its gonna hurt wayne county on fridays and i much perfer eddies track over dublin. But for the owners of dublin its a wise move, everyone complains about friday racing with work and such, but before things went wrong at wayne county they always had good car counts and fans in the stands. akso wake county on friday night is always packed. well the couple times I have been over the years.

I agree Jh I don't they had much chice and working together with FMS, will hopefully help the continuing downfall of cars and fans at Dublin. I think it's a great thing for the two tracks to team up and help each other out, instead of trying to compete on a weekly basis. Good luck to both tracks in the 2006 season..:icon_beerchug:

Yeah, good move for Dublin I think. Just hope it doesn't kill WCS (WCS is within driving distance for me, Dublin is not). It is good to see the tracks working together though ... I think we'd be better off if more tracks could work together.

If the weather holds out this weekend I think the management should get the driver's opinion on the change at the Driver's Meeting since they were not asked. The drivers bring the fans and if some of them are not able to race on Saturday then you are going to be short fans. Think about it from the fan and driver perspective.

The drivers don't run the show or make the choices. If they are diehard DMS drivers as they claim then they will be there. I honestly don't understand why either track didn't make this change sooner. This will benifiet both places I think in car count and fan turnout.

I think the switch is a huge mistake. Everyone I've talked to says they will have to race somewhere else Saturday. I will really miss driving at Dublin its a great track. Theres just no way for us to get there after work on fridays. I hope it doesn't work out and they switch back.
