was readin it was made for dirt... but i ran across something that some can read about on it...GM Offers the LS3 for Dirt Trackers
GM has been offering crate engines for dirt track racing for years, but many racers feel that the options have all been a little bit low on power. But that’s about to change with the new CT525. The CT obviously stands for “Circle Track” and the 525 is the maximum horsepower. By the way, peak power hits at a very racey 6,700 rpm, while the 471 peak torque number shows up when the tach needle hits five grand.
But most interesting is the fact that except for the intake manifold, this engine is virtually straight out of the new Chevy Corvette. The LS3 motor is one of the most powerful engines GM has ever produced, and so it can be a good performer on the race track without overly stressing the components. Because of that GM’s Bill Martens says many racers should be able to go an entire season between rebuilds.
GM’s CT525 is quite different from NASCAR’s Spec Motor, the other LS-based engine currently in stock car racing. The CT525 uses almost all stock components to hold costs down. This means no mechanical fuel pump, so racers will need to use an electric fuel pump of some sort. This engine should be available soon, and we expect the street price will be somewhere slightly north of $8,000—which isn’t bad for 500-plus horsepower.

So far I have not heard of any series running the 525 exclusively. UFo is also allowing the engine.
I have been wondering...Is this engine going to go down the "upgrade" route that the 602 & 604 lumps do now??? :07Sucks::07Sucks::07Sucks::07Sucks:
