JACKSONVILLE, FL (October 1, 2009)-
Hoosier Tire has signed on to sponsor two classes at this years 3rd annual Lucas Oil Go-Kart Shootout. One Hoosier Tire Class will run each day of the two day event. The Hoosier Tire 380 lbs Flathead class will run on Saturday and the Hoosier Tire 380 lbs Animal class on Sunday which will pay $750 to win and pay back the top 5 positions guaranteed with a no-kart minimum. Racers in both classes must use two right side Hoosier D60 tires to compete. Hoosier Tire has put an additional $200 bonus to the winner of each class if that racer is using all four (4) Hoosier tires on their kart and will pay the winner $950.
As an added bonus to racers that participate in these classes three (3) provisional starting spots for the big $8,000 to win Lucas Oil Pro Class feature will be awarded to the top three combined points racers in the Hoosier 380 Flathead and the Hoosier 380 Animal classes. In order to be eligible for the three (3) provisionals from the Hoosier Tire Classes racers must be pre-entered in the Hoosier 380 Flathead, Hoosier 380 Animal and the Lucas Oil Pro Class. In an effort to help racers at this event Hoosier Tire and Earl Pearson Jr. have agreed to offer these classes to racers at a very low entry fee of $30 if pre-entered and $45 entry fee at the gate.

The $8,000 to win Lucas Oil Go-Kart Shootout event information, rules, class schedule, payouts end entry forms are now online at the event website www.earlpearsonjr.net. (http://www.earlpearsonjr.net./) The date of the event which was announced back in July has been set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 30-31st and November 1st and will be presented again by 5-time national dirt late model champion driver Earl Pearson Jr. This year's mega event will take place at the new Iron City Motorsports Complex in Blacksburg, South Carolina. The feature event of the weekend will again be the Lucas Oil Pro Class that will pay $8,000 to win on Sunday November 1st. The Lucas Oil Shootout weekend will start on Friday October 30th with registration, tech inspection and practice on Friday night. Then on Saturday October 31st racers will compete in a full schedule of multiple classes paying money and contingency awards. On Sunday November 1st the schedule of events will be highlighted with the Lucas Oil Pro Class paying $8,000 to win with a unique qualifying format of qualifying and heat races to make the 30 kart starting field. All 30 drivers starting the Lucas Oil Pro Class feature will receive cash awards.
This year's event will take place at the brand new Iron City Motorsports Karting Complex in Blacksburg, South Carolina. The new facility is just off Interstate 85 and is centrally located between Greenville, SC and Charlotte, NC.
