HAMPTON, Va. (Sept. 23) - A jam-packed, seven-race lineup is on tap for this Saturday, Sept. 26, as Langley Speedway continues its 2009 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series schedule with Whelen Fire/EMS Night.
Saturday's feature slate includes: Crossroads Fuel Service Late Model Stock Cars (100 laps); B&C Seafood Modifieds (50 laps); Old Point National Bank Grand Stocks (40 laps); Atlantic Power Sweeping Super Streets (50 laps); Casey Cycle City INEX Legends (25 laps); Standard Welding Pro 6s (30 laps); and, Rhonnda Claiborne, Realtor HRKC Pro Winged Champ Karts (20 laps).
Front gates open at 1 p.m. Afternoon practice rounds get under way at 2 and wrap up at 4. Time trials begin at 4:30, following a 4:15 drivers meeting. Pre-race activities begin at 6:30 and the Champ Karts kick off the evening's feature program, shortly after 7.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children, 6-12. "Little Race Fans" (under 6) are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. Military members in uniform are also admitted free. Military members in civvies (active-duty or retired, with ID) and senior citizens (60+, with ID) receive a $2 discount off the regular adult ticket price. "Family Packs," which include two adult and two children's tickets, are $25 - a savings of $5.
For this Saturday's program, firefighters and EMS personnel are admitted free upon presentation of a department-issued ID. They also get a $2 discount on the purchase of additional adult tickets.

The Speedway will hold its regular, weekly "test and tune" session on Thursday, Sept. 24. Gates open at 5 p.m. and practice begins at 6. Pit admission is $10. There is no charge to watch from the grandstands.

The Speedway's popular "Wacky Wednesdays" series winds up its 2009 schedule tonight. The evening's lineup includes One-on-One Drags (one-lap match races), "Time Attacks" (solo runs against the clock) and a Burnout Competition.

Twelve Langley Speedway regulars landed spots in the final NASCAR Whelen All-American Series national Top 500, which was released late last week.
In addition to C.E. Falk, who finished seventh, Langley's representatives in the national rankings included: Danny Edwards Jr. (84th), Woody Howard (113th), Mark Wertz (134th), Greg Edwards (146th), Wesley Falk (275th), Dean Shiflett (303rd), Jeff Shiflett (341st), Paul DeBolt (407th), Matt Waltz (411th), Shawn Balluzzo (426th) and Kyle Waltz (447th).
In the final NASCAR Virginia state standings, Falk placed second to three-time national champ Philip Morris of Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Va. Danny Edwards Jr. and Woody Howard were 13th and 14th, respectively, while Mark Wertz and Greg Edwards were 19th and 20th.

The NoD features a full slate of Enduros, demolition derbies and a variety of novelty events.
