SELECT FIVE NAMES!!!
PLEASE SELECT YOUR FAVORITE 5, no more, no less

You can select 5 names
Take the NASCAR Hall of Fame (HOF) Poll and see the results now. The problem is that the this poll only allows 20 options when there's 25 names on the actual HOF ballet. So what I've done is eliminate 5 names famous as car owners.

The names eliminated from the pole are: Richard Childress, Rick Hendrick, Bud Moore, Glen Wood, and Bill France Jr. Raymond Parks was a car owner but his contributions were more than just owner. Junior Johnson was a driver and a owner but is famous for both. Bottom line is I had to eliminate somebody so if your favorite(s) are taken out just vote for 1-2-3-or 4 names but don't forget to SELECT 5 names, FIVE NAMES!!

Quite an easy poll you've got there. You take the top five winningest drivers in NASCAR history and make them the first five indictees. They are all on your list:

Richard Petty
David Pearson
Bobby Allison
Darryl Waltrip
Cale Yarborough

If that's your picks yes, but NASCAR came up with these names, I didn't. This is an indicator who is going to end up on the first HOF induction. It appears folks vote for who they remember, not considering what impact the older drivers had on stock car racing. If you ever read the book "Driving with the Devil" you might have picked differently. Not trying to persuade anyone's decision here, just wanted to post this poll to get an idea of who will be the winners. And yes, it's becoming quite obvious who the top 5 are, but that doesn't mean that the others are any less important to the history of Stock Car Racing.
Thanks everyone for taking the time to vote.
Dale Jr. was interviewd last week and he himself mentioned that the list should be broken down into era's, not all bunched together.

So hard! I need two more picks. This is the first class, I don't see how they can limit it to five inductees. I say do 10 to 12 and then in the following years do 5 a year. DRIVING WITH THE DEVIL absolutely swayed my choices.

Streetstocker6...I felt the same way after reading that book and I'd bet it would be a totally different outcome if everyone read it. You'd still have your Dale and Richard fans but I know there would be 3 others spots that wouldn't be obvious.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremonies begin 14 October at 10am on Speed Channel and last most the day...the announcement will be made that afternoon. Should be interesting to see how accurate this poll is.
