new to track...

i may be joining ya'll friday night if i can go through the car in time.

do i have to pit inside or pit off the turn. when i came to watch, i saw some bombers and 4 cylinders in the inside of the track?

also is there a pre-race tech on all classes?

do all classes get hot laps, shakedown laps?

and, how much is race fuel at the track?

Yeah I noticed that the guy listed as promoting the track wins the 4 cylinder race week in and week out.

But its the closest one to my new home from what I found online, if I wanna make some laps. I know my car won't be able to keep up with the big motors they are running in that class.

Where would you suggest that's not to far from Fort Meade and Odenton, MD?

ya i used to race that cless at potomac and it was either me. greg gunter of larry winning but now its just grag and the rest is a demo derby. if you want some fun racing with a good class of cars i would sugguest wincester

well id love to try out winchester, but this weekend i gotta go in early saturday and potomac is the closest hop for me....and i just wanna see if the car is gonna run and not blow up...lol

right now i might not be racing anywhere if i can't find, make, beg, borrow or steal an adapter to adapt a pinto throttle cable to a pintostyle intake to a holley 2300 series carburetor. the bracket i have is for a mustang throttle cable i guess and its a 1/4 inch too far away from the ball thats on the throttle plate. and i left my cutting and welding stuff in the south where i'm from.

if you know anyone who might have one i can borrow til i can make my own, just to get me through friday night, i'd be happy if i could borrow, or buy if its a spare. if they ain't too far away from my home i'd bring the bracket over to someones shop if they would do it for me.. i cant even load the car without that stinking bracket.

if i know car will stay together, i'll bring it down to winchester next week..but i checked the site and all i have is 5 hoosier RC4s and i dont have the dinero to get american racers

ya that what it was. weight limit is 3200 at potomac and i ran my car at vms the next night with no added weight and it made weight after quilifing and the feature and the weight limit at vms is 3300. and my tank had the same gas amount of gass in it both nights so burning fuel isnt a factor cuz i would burn more at vms then potomac. its just potomac has pick on me and my car all season and can find nothing wrong with it cuz it was built under potomac rules so they lyed about my weight and band me for the rest of the season

Now Sam , you are leaving a bunch of things out arent you ? Like destroying the tracks transponder ? If your hobby stock is anything like your Strictly stock I am sure there were other things to find.

my hobby stock is 100 percent legal. i waiting for some one to pull it apart so i can get paid cuz that motor has 4 season on it and there aint one thing illegal in. i had a fresh motor but it let go at vms. now i got a back up one in it. im just tired of hearing about how i cant drive its just the car so im selling it and going late model. cuz all hobby stock people do is cry

idn who you are and i dont care and ya i did break that transponder cuz i got robbed out of my winning but its what every i can finsh third at vms and still get what i would have won. and i did tell him the truth that track suxs

Well hey , I agree the payout is bad. I think most would agree . But that isnt what was being said here. You are telling this man that they plotted against you and then threw you out for no reason at all.
I know that isnt the real story and was simply asking you to tell the guy the truth about what happened.

i know i got throwin out for the transponder i know that and i was mad at the way i was treated at my home track. ive raced there ever since i started and and i live 10 mins from the track. ive tryed to talk to greg about paying for the transponder and racing there again but no one from the track will respond. i heard they dont want vms cars there no more cuz they are to fast and thats also why im not allowed back. but i dont have a vms car its a potomac car that i race at vms. I was trying to support the potomac hobby stocks down there at vms

Well I will admit I am a bit biased. I have been working on\building cars for 20 some odd years and I raced you in Strictly stock. I would bet the farm that your caprice was illegal there at the end when it suddenly got fast out of no where. I dont want to hear about driving ability or any of that other bs that cheaters say to cover the cheating. Driving ability would make you I---I this much faster in that barge. You instantly went to being I------------------I this much faster over night. With that said.

The tracks scales wiegh all the cars. Your scales at home does your car. Now who do the odds fall in favor of on having correct scales ?
Did you calmly talk to Ronnie and ask to wiegh the car again after the races and look for yourself ? I like Ronnie and think he is a really decent guy that is willing to talk to you and I cant imagine him denying you that if he was addressed correctly.

I agree that the track has some issues in other areas. I do know that they wont get fixed with flying of the handle and getting all ignorant. The drivers need to band together and speak with a uniform rational voice. Only then will you change anything.

If you are a cheater its good to see you get caught. It means someone is looking and that benefits everyone that spends thier money and comes to compete. This whole "VMS car" thing falls on deaf ears. If your car is legal at potomac , its legal and thats the end of that. They arent going to reduce the car count any further in that class if they can help it.

i get what your saying. and my caprice did have a computer in it but what fuel injection car doesnt out there. to be honest with you i think they shoundnt let them run because of the stuff you can do to them. and if the same guy is winning then they should make them add weight to there car every time they win till the get to a certain weight.

and your right cheating does make up for ones abilty to drive. and if you get caught it is good for the others. i wish they would tech more then just carbs though. i spent all last year and over the winter seting my car up to get it to handle and i had it on the scales a good bit. George moreland who is my neighbor help alot with it too. and we built it to be 100% legel cuz i dont want to be labeled as a cheater i want to make a name for my self as a driver as does everyone who races. i watch alot of race and study peoples driving skills and try them on the track.

i asked ronnie after the race to reweigh my car and he wouldnt. idn why he wouldnt. i mean ronnie has been cool with me up to this year as well as a few other drivers but for some reason this year they are not so friendly. and ya what i did that night was wrong but at the time i was very hot head and lost my temper which as a driver i need to work on. i have big plans next year as im working on moving up to late model next year so i can run more tracks and race new people

Well all of my cars have legal ECMs in them and they do win. I do agree that something should be done after you win over and over. I would like them to update the ancient hobby stock rules and push us and our cars up into hobby stock.

Its not the 70's anymore.

True they do need to do somthing. i mean you guys deff have good car counts were hobby stocks are fading away. And another reason is you cant run camraos at many tracks anymore so they do need to update a little.
