The Crate Late Model feature quickly turned into a race-long thriller. Ryan Walls worked by Tyler Reed and Mike Williams to lead the first lap. Joe Warren used the outside to quickly move from fifth to second by lap two. Chris Hitchens got by Williams for the third spot with Reed and Clint Chalabala settling into fifth.
By lap five Warren was challenging side by side with Walls for the lead. The two ran wheel to wheel until lap 11 when the only caution on the event was thrown for Gus Economides who spun.

On the restart Warren went back to work on Walls but Walls would make no mistakes as he drove the R&J Poultry/Warrion to his fifth win of the year. Warren finished in second with Reed making a final charge to finish in third. Fourth went to Hitchens and Chalabala rounded out the top five. Walls set fast time in qualifying.

Crate Late Model Feature: 1. RYAN WALLS; 2. Joe Warren; 3. Tyler Reed; 4. Chris Hitchens; 5. Clint Chalabala; 6. Amanda Whaley; 7. Darin Henderson; 8. Justin Breeding; 9. Nick Davis; 10. Mike Williams; 11. Matt Hill; 12. Mike Wilson; 13. Roy Hassler; 14. Skip Syester; 15. Gary Manos; 16. Randy Given; 17. Gus Economides.

Clue us in on what the heck your talking about. I haven't raced over there since Camp Barnes so am out of the loop on who has gotten teched. I haven't seen anything on RedBud about any tech. I thought maybe the track had given up on it or something.

The wheel 2 wheel show has confirmed that the crate model 14w driven by Ryan Walls was inspected this past sat nite at DIS and the motor was found to be illegal.

The report is that the seals were broken and a different(non approved)cam was installed.

He was then disqualified from the race he had won on 7/25/09.

The motor was confiscated and all points earned to this point were taken away. All of this was confirmed by track owner Charlie Cathell.

Therefore Joe Warren is now being credited with the win and first place points, also all other cars will move up one spot as well.

I'm waiting to see the wrong or in my case the right team with enough funds to challenge the legality in court of the confiscating of engines. An attorney friend of mind stated he didn't think tracks are series would have a leg to stand on.

Have you ever heard of a major league ball player suing the umpire when they find an loaded or illegal bat.................
same deal, Fastrak, and NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series have confiscated more then 2 dozen engines so far in the last 2 years and NOBODY has said a word, plus I don't know of how many illegal parts they have taken.

I somewhat agree with you. But the thing that really frightens me is when it comes to the time suing of another for running into another or causing another car to wreck or flip, and here's the important part, WITHOUT MALICE, I have already heard about some incidents settle in court that where intentional ...........................

According to you the only class cheating are crates. But then you are anti anyway. I don't know what Fastrak does but before we race at DIS whoever owns the car signs a form that says if your motor is illegal it becomes the property of the track. They take down there seal numbers and the serial number on the block to identify it. When I raced stocks at VMS they seized illegal parts too. You don't want your junk taken run legal.

Not anti crate as much as I'm anti the theory that crates would cut cost and eliminate cheating. Which it obvious to the unbiased (me) it has gone neither.

First of all open the tire rules up, there's a reason they are called SUPER LATE MODELS!!!!!

Surely you are not trying equate being light at the scales with cheating up a crate motor. :40vw:

Come on Bill not even you can be that lame :Ignor:

Braking a posted rule or printed rule is braking the rule reguardless if weight or what ever. When you don't make weight your cheating
When you put tire softener on your tires and you don't make durometer test, your cheating.
When you violate the rules and don't comply with the rules and everone else has to, what do you call it???????

Braking a posted rule or printed rule is braking the rule reguardless if weight or what ever. When you don't make weight your cheating Now you need to rephrase this or you we all have opinons.IF your light at scales DOES not always mean your cheating..Please think about it when you change a setup and didn't acquire for more caution laps 7 pounds a gallon for gas.I remember for losing a race by 6 lbs. at pennsboro..ONE too many cautions that day and we all just cocentrated on getting back on track with out missing a lap..
When you put tire softener on your tires and you don't make durometer test, your cheating.TRUE
When you violate the rules and don't comply with the rules and everone else has to, what do you call it???????CHEATING.....Now do i get a door prize.:bigglasses:

ok I'll back off the weight deal for a lot of reason, even more then you said, so I'll give you that. I guess I should say when "You knowingly alter or manipulate the rules for the soul purpose to gain an advantage, thats cheating".
