AutoMeter or Zero. I have a car with Zero that have never given any trouble but I don't know where you buy them, they came in my car from Rocket.

You just need to look at your budget and figure out how much you have to spend.
The Longacre stuff is nice and really works well, you don't hear anyone say that they ever had a problem with any of their stuff.
The Stewart Warner wide sweep gauges are about the best for the money.
I would get out the Dave Poske performance catalog or the Doug Herbert catalog and pick which one is best for your needs.
I like oil pressure, water pressure, oil temperature, water temperature, two gauges for brake bias pressure, amps, volts
A light to tell you when the ignition is on and a light to tell you low oil pressure. A light to tell you when the electrical charging system is not charging. A switch to turn on the ignition / power, a push button switch to turn on the starter, a switch for the lights, a switch for the traction control, a switch for the air bags. oops - too many suggestions.
I like to point my gauges so the needle reads straight up when the engine is running and is in operating temperatures. That way all you have to do is look briefly at the gauge to see if there is a problem. If the needle is not pointing straight up - you know you have a problem.
