Super 7 Late Model
1st Twin 25-lap feature
Greensboro's Steve Blackburn captured the pole for the 1st feature race for the evening. At the drop of the green he took over the lead and held on to it like a “MAN ON A MISSION”. Blackburn is one tuff act to follow but trust me several other drivers were just as tuff with up front racing on the edge. Two-time winner Johnny Stovall shot like a cannon past Blackburn to gain the lead, however Blackburn was able to hold his pace and ease right back into the number one HOT SEAT . Henderson's Terry Cardwell and Autryville's Jeffery Tyndall tried all they had to make that spot out front theirs, but just couldn't git-r-done. Blackburn landed his second victory of the season at WCS. Tyndall held on for the second place win. Stovall came in right behind for third and Cardwell settled for fourth. Roger Lucas of Apex rounded out the top five wins and is a strong contender for the second feature race.
2nd Twin 25-lap feature
Starting from the pole was Roger Lucas of Apex, Lucas took control of the lead at the drop of the green. Autryville's Jeffery Tyndall and Greensboro's Steve Blackburn were swapping position as they were gaining ground on Lucas. While back in the pack Greensboro's “The MAN” Ray Tucker wanted a piece of the pie, he was passing the traffic one by one to work his way out front. As the checkered flag fell it was Autryville's Pride Jeffery Tyndall that landed his third victory of the season at WCS. Tucker held on strong and maneuvered his way into the second place win. Blackburn finished third and Lucas settled for fourth. Rounding out the top five was Terry Cardwell of Henderson. This proves racing is a very unpredictable sport, the same driver, car and crew can finish so differently on any given night. Thanks to all who were responsible for this totally awesome racing action and may the FORCE be with you ! Hope to see you next week for $3000 to win in the SUPER 7 Late Models.
10 Lap Dash For Cash
The top 4 finishers in the 1st feature race were paired up to run this 10-lap Dash for Cash. However Johnny Stovall was unable to compete due to mechanical problems so 5th place winner , Roger Lucas was put into this totally awesome race for the cash. Fifty dollars per lap was for the winning for each lap that the driver would lead. Fans were on their toes when these guys took off. Only four cars, but they made it a race to remember for a life time. Henderson's Terry Cardwell led the most laps and was not an easy target to reach but Greensboro's Steve Blackburn was in the lead when the checkered fell claiming the first ever DASH FOR CASH Victory in the Super 7 at WCS.
Sportsman
Capturing the pole of the 25-lap Sportsman feature race was Princeton's Junior Pearce. Pearce put his nose out front and planned to take it all the way to victory lane. However it was 7-time winner Steve Pearson of Henderson that seized the moment and took over the lead and landed his eight victory of the season at WCS. Frank Munn made a very impressive second place win. Elm City's Tater Lyles held on to the third place win. Rounding out the top five was newcomer's Jimmy Pearce and Randy Hill.
Thunder & Lighting
Capturing the pole for the 20-lap feature race was last weeks winner Eddie Woodruff of Henderson. Woodruff was unable to complete the main event and newcomer Scott Pearce and Rocky Mount's Allan Worrells and Wilson's Glenn Upchurch all set their sights on the checkers. However it was Pearce that captured his first win of the season at WCS, bringing with him Worrells for the second place win. Upchurch settled for third while Sanford's Benton Smith and Wilson's Lee Brinson finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Bombers
Starting from the pole and taking his third victory was Wilson's Tony Harrell. Harrell had his hands full trying to stay out front but landed the victory with teammate Gary Whitley claiming the second place win. Newcomer Wesley Cogwell finished third while Goldsboro's Steve Sheldon and Kevin Beard finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Super Stock 4 Cylinder
Capturing the pole and his first WCS victory was Wilson's Jason Horne. Horne took control of the lead at the drop of the green, however Pine Level's up and coming driver Dustin Mitchell gave him a run for the money. As the checkers fell it was Horne and his #8 machine that landed the victory and Mitchell was close behind for his second place win. Newcomer Dwayne Harding held on strong for third while last weeks feature winner Michael Webb of Elm City finished fourth. Rounding out the top five was Gerald Lutz also a newcomer to WCS.
