Results via the Elkins Speedway website. Official Steel Block Bandits results will follow shortly.

Kris Looney, Bridgewater , VA driving his Lazer chassied Steel block LM won the 40 lap Steel Block Bandits vs Steel Block Mafia shootout at the Elkins Speedway and collected $2000 for his efforts.

Looney’s persistence paid off all night as he started on the pole, led the first 6 laps until 3rd starting Dusty Campbell, McConnellsville , OH got by. Looney immediately passed Campbell back the next lap and proceeded to lead for the next 10 laps until Billy Beachler, Franklin , WV passed him. Beachler then looked to be the class of the field as he opened up a good sized lead. But he ran into problems on lap 26 and Looney again assumed the lead. Beachler’s night ended on lap 27 as he went pitside with mechanical problems. Looney then fended off several charges from John Tallman, Tracy Sampson and Kris Patterson but he put the hammer down and won going away. At the checkered he had almost a half track lead over Tallman, with Sampson 3rd, Ron Key 4th and Dusty Hamrick 5th. Heats to Looney, Brian Buckler and Campbell .

Notes: Dusty Hamrick was the only Fastrack LM participating and finished 5th. Nineteen cars in the pits with 18 starting the feature. 7 ran the entire 40 laps. Hard charger was John Tallman who started 11th and finished 2nd, a gain of 9 spots.

Notes: 5 of the first 7 finishers were local cars that run at Elkins on a weekly basis.
