well its a sad week for me and my family, my 15 year old cat is dying on me, she quit eating and drinking a few days ago, me and the wife talked about taking her out to the vet and putting her down, and my wife said no to leave her here at home to pass away, this is freaking me out and breaking my heart to watch and see her go like this, wird thing is she was the runt of the litter and we didnt think she was gonna live from the start, but she has had a good life, she had 6 kittens of her own, i still have the twins from her, my dog is getting weirded out too, she wont leave her alone, when charming meows the dog starts to whine but not a loud whine, its like they are talking to each other, i decided to take a day off work to keep a eye on her, i hope other animal lovers dont have to go through this, later...Dj

I have been in your shoes. It is heartwrenching. Do what you feel is best for the cat and not what is best for you? I tried once letting them die at home with me and it was harder to see them suffer when I knew that the end was a fact. I have now decided that they should die peacefully because it hurt me worse to see them suffer.

The decision is up to you and your family.

I will pray that the cat has a swift passing.

thanks for the kind words everybody, i did try to make comterable as possible, but she passed away on my lap, so me & my wife took her out to my dads house to buried her, she didnt act like she was hurting in any way, but she would not eat or drink, i tried to finger feed her and i bought ice cream for her to drink but she just refused it, but next time im gonna let the vet put the rest of my animals down...Dj

I hate to hear that im a big animal lover matter of fact trying to go back to school to be a vet tech. I know what u are going through though a couple of months ago I had to have my dog put to sleep he did the same thing your cat done and he threw up but I thought maybe he just had a virus took him to vet ended up costing me right at 400 bucks got meds and stuff none of it helped and he just wouldnt eat drink so I kept telling myself ive gotta do something I cant keep watching him lose weight and look like this so me and my husband had a LONG conversation about what we should do and we ended up putting him to sleep trust me it was HARD to do. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs now about to get another cat. My animals are MY FAMILY! i love all of them and I would cry if any of the others died too.
