Over the next 15-laps Williams and Lathroum would put on quite a crowd-pleasing duel as they would race side by side until Lathroum spun from contention on lap-22. “We’ve been pretty fast this season so far, but have had little mechanical misfortunes take us out of races.” Williams stated from Potomac’s victory lane. “Tonight it was just a matter of giving the car what it wanted and I’m really happy that we were able to finally get a wi n for car owner Mike Cross.”
Daryl Hills collected his third top-five of the season in taking second, Roland Mann had a solid run taking third, veteran Deane Guy was fourth and early Leader Lathroum completed the top-five. Heats for the 17 cars in the pits went to Williams and Lathroum.
Derrick Quade, the 2007 Potomac LLM track champion, broke Tommy Wagner Jr.’s two-race win streak as he took his first feature win of the season in the 25-lap limited late model main event. Quade took the top-spot from Steven Axtell Jr. on the fifth lap and would romp home to a very convincing win. Kyle Lear rallied late for his second runner-up finish of the season, 12th starting Tommy Wagner Jr. took third, Stevie Long was fourth and Mike Latham rounded out the top-five. Heats for the 18 cars on hand went to Quade and Stevie Long.
