Not much left of Monroe, NC's Starlite Speedway. The site was bulldozed in the mid-'80's for an industrial park. Althought Starlite hosted NASCAR Grand National events, it's probably best remembered as the site of James Sears fatal crash in the 1970's. Topo map still shows Starlite's location.

Close enough.. Its Starlite not Starlight. I use to date a lady that did the book keeping for the property owner. Got to do alot of fishin' in the big pond out near John St. Also great paperhull pecans...:icon_metal::icon_metal::icon_metal: Sadly the site has 2 ball fields and a soccer field on it. County took the property over a few years ago.

Thanks mod90! I recall passing by the "Starlite" sign out on HWY 74 many-a-time as a kid back in the '60's. Never could convince my mom to take a side trip to check out the track. Never having actually seen the track, I've been looking for a photo of Starlite for years! Thanks again.
