For three seasons in the mid 1950's Myrtle Beach's Coastal Speedway played host to weekly NASCAR sportsman and hobby divisions; a few Grand National events thrown in too. Racing at the Beach moved to its present location in 1958, and Coastal Speedway began the ghost-track trek. With property skyrocketing and develoment rampant, it's nothing short of miraculous that parts of the 1st and 2nd turns remain. The old ghost is loacted at 21st Avenue and Oak Street, and is very well documented at www.raceplace.zoomshare.com (http://www.raceplace.zoomshare.com)
