While it wasn't a classic, winner Earl Pearson Jr, and charging runner-up Darrell Lanigan proved there was plenty of passing room as they weaved through the field.
"They did a good job on (the track surface)," said 4th place finisher Steve Francis. " I didn't believe it would last as long as it did. You could race all over the thing almost the whole race. You can't complain about that, and you can't complain about 4th."
Pearson was caught by surprise that he could utilize multiple grooved thought the long-distance grind.
A the beginning of the race, "I just wanted to save my tires because I thought the racetrack would lock up by lap 30,40, or 50," Pearson said. "But it really never did. I kind of got surprised on that."
"We've been coming here for years. The track has been bad numerous times, but I'll tell you what, the last two or three times we've been here, they've done well on the racetrack. It was smooth. My hat's off to them guys today, fighting the wind, fighting the sun, a middle -of-the-day race usually is never any good, so they did an outstanding
