UARA Soiree` set to air on RacetalkRadio.com

Rural Hall, NC (March 1st, 2009) – The UARA Soiree` Internet radio show will serve as the weekly pit party for the UARA-STARS Late Model Tour based in North Carolina. UARA Soiree` airs live on-line each Tuesday evening 6:00 – 6:30 PM (EST) on www.RaceTalkRadio.com (http://www.racetalkradio.com/). Each show is archived ‘On Demand’ so race fans can listen to each episode at their most convenience. UARA Soiree` is broadcasted live on location from Buffalo Wild Wings located in Kannapolis, NC and is hosted by UARA-STARS series announcer Doc Love.
Darrell Wallace Jr from Concord, NC will join the UARA Soiree` to discuss his awesome 2008 rookie season and share his thoughts on the upcoming 2009 season. Wallace Jr raced to the 2008 UARA-STARS Melling Select Rookie of the Year title and caught the eye of several top NASCAR teams. Wallace Jr will represent Joe Gibbs Racing in 2009 as he hopes to be the first rookie in series history to also earn the overall series title.
Alex Yontz from Walnut Cove, NC will drop in the UARA Soiree` to discuss the open test for the series at the Rockingham Speedway. Yontz is tied with Jamie Yelton for 2nd in all time victories for the series with 7 and has come close on 2 occasions to winning a series championship. Yontz is the only driver to win races is a LMSC at 2 different “Cup” tracks, Bristol Motor Speedway and Martinsville Speedway.

2008 UARA-STARS runner up rookie of the year Brandon McReynolds from Mooresville, NC will join Doc and Stat Boy live on location at BWW to discuss his rookie season and share his thoughts on the upcoming 2009 season. In 2008 McReynolds won his first UARA-STARS event at Fast Franklin County Speedway in Calloway, VA. McReynolds new crew chief, Nick Hutchins will also be there at BWW. We’ll go under the hood with Hutchins to help us understand exactly what is a UARA-STARS late model stock car. Hutchins will also discuss how Team McReynolds did at the UARA-STARS open test at the Bristol Motor Speedway last Saturday. Langley Austin, Executive Editor of Race22.com was on site for the UARA-STARS open test at BMS and he will drop in to fill us in on all the details plus he will preview the UARA-STARS season opener this week end at the Hickory Motor Speedway located in Hickory, NC.

Harold Crook from Abingdon VA has served as UARA-STARS series promoter from the beginning in 2002. Crook will visit “Sat Boy” and Doc to discuss this week ends UARA-STARS event at the Bristol Motor Speedway and fill in the details on the celebrity race as well. Scott Turlington from Richmond, VA will drop in for some bench racing and discuss his thoughts about Bristol this week end. In 2008 Turlington finished third in the rookie of the year battle and tenth in the overall championship standings.
We will also announce the email contest winner of the Nationwide Series, Celebrity/Legends race and UARA-STARS Late Model Tour Bristol tickets for March 21, 2009. 2005 series champion, Matt McCall from Denver, NC raced to his 7th UARA-STARS career victory in a dominating performance at the Bristol Motor Speedway this past Saturday night. McCall earned his 8th career Sunoco Pole Award and broke the UARA-STARS qualifying record at BMS with a lap of 15.440 which was .288 seconds faster than the old mark. McCall will visit Doc and Elgin to discuss the race and what the future holds for him. 2008 series champion, Jake “The Snake” Crum from Statesville, NC will drop by to discuss his Bristol week end and how his crash may effect his 2009 racing season. Crum will also discuss his new deal with Venturini Motorsports. In his championship season last year Crum won 2 races, 1 pole, 10 top 5’s, led 329 laps of his 2,373 completed laps of the 2,422 that made up the UARA-STARS 2008 racing season. Both Matt McCall and Jake Crum will be joining Doc and Elgin live on-location at Buffalo Wild Wings this week.

Dropping in for some good bench racing with Doc and the gang this week is Caleb Holman from Abingdon, VA. Holman, a regular in the USARacing series has also raced Limited Late Models at Motor Mile Speedway located in Radford, VA and has seen some action in the UARA-STARS Late Model Tour as well. Holman started 11th and finished 12th and plans to race with the tour 7 to 8 events in 2009. Holman will be racing against the UARA-STARS regulars this week end at Rockingham. Holman finished 4th at the Rock in the USARacing event last November.

Dropping by Buffalo Wild Wings this week will be Corey LaJoie from Concord, NC who is now 1 for 1 at the Rockingham Speedway after his huge victory last week end at the Rock. Corey will go down in history as the first ever race winner in a late model stock car at the Rock. In 2008 Corey raced 10 times with the series earning 1 top 5 and 2 top 10’s. Corey will be joined by his Father, Randy LaJoie, 2 time Nationwide Series Champion. Randy had 21 starts at Rockingham with 6 top 5’s and 10 top 10’s. Paddy Rodenbeck from Odessa, FL will also be dropping in to discuss his day at the Rock. Rodenbeck is off to a strong start to the season following up his top 5 finish at Bristol with a 2nd place finish at the Rockingham Speedway. Last season was Rodenbeck’s first full season in a late model stock car and raced as a rookie with the UARA-STARS. In 13 events Rodenbeck earned 2 top 10’s.

Matt DiBenedetto originally from Grass Valley, CA whose family packed up and moved to Hickory, NC to see how far they can go in the racing business. DiBenedetto captured the hearts of fans in 2007 as he raced to the Rookie of the year title in the UARA-STARS Late Model Tour. DiBenedetto will call in to share his thoughts on how racing with the UARA-STARS prepared him for the next step in his career. DiBenedetto was signed by Joe Gibbs Racing earlier this year and won a race for his new team in his second start.
Current top rookie John King II from Kingsport, TN will drop in to discuss his season thus far and how racing on dirt has help in his transition to the tough competition on the UARA-STARS. King currently leads the Rookie battle and sits 8th in the over all standings. King has raced in the highly competitive Fastrak Racing series on dirt tracks through out the Southeast. In 2008 King was signed to a development program and now races under the banner of Bill Elliott Racing.

UARA-STARS veteran, Jamie Yelton from Forrest City, NC has yet to make his first start in 2009 but his car has raced in all 3 tour stops. Yelton will stop by to discuss his future driving plans and talk about FatHead Racing. Yelton has won well over 30 Late Model Stock Car races through out the Southeast including a track championship in 2001 at the Tri-County Motor Speedway located in Hudson, NC. Yelton also has 7 UARA-STARS victories and 6 Sunoco Pole Awards. Brennan Poole, 17 years old from The Woodlands, TX, has enrolled in the FatHead Racing driver development program and is racing for the UARA-STARS rookie of the year title this season. Poole will drop in to chat with Doc & Elgin to discuss racing with the tour and how FatHead Racing has helped with the learning curve adapting to the late model stock cars. In recent years Poole has raced Legend Cars and Modifieds on dirt in Texas. Poole raced in twin late model stock car events at the Tri-County Motor Speedway on May 8th and earned his first LMSC victory in race #1 and finished second in race #2.
The UARA-STARS will return to racing action on Friday May 22nd at the Tri-County Motor Speedway located in Hudson, NC. Grandstands open at 5 PM UARA-STARS qualify at 5:30 PM with the green flag scheduled to drop at 8 PM.

Doc and the gang will preview the upcoming UARA-STARS event at the Tri-County Motor Speedway this Friday May 22nd. Joining Doc this week on the program will be young gun Logan Ruffin (14 years old) from Brentwood, TN. Ruffin made his debut with the series at Concord and plans to run 4 more events. Ruffin was signed by Venturini Motorsports March 2009 and races in the UARA-STARS in cars prepared by series veteran Alex Yontz. Ruffin has raced super late models and won in the highly competitive, “World Series of Asphalt Racing” event in 2008.
The UARA-STARS will return to racing action on Friday May 22nd at the Tri-County Motor Speedway located in Hudson, NC. Grandstands open at 5 PM and qualifying for the UARA-STARS starts at 5:30 PM with the green flag scheduled to drop at 8 PM.

The Circle Wheel 150 at the Orange County Speedway was the site of tour stop #6 for the UARA-STARS Late Model Tour. 2005 series champion Matt McCall from Denver, NC will join Doc this week to discuss his awesome performance at Orange County Speedway. McCall earned the Sunoco Pole by rounding OCS in 14.300 seconds smashing the UARA track record (14.494) set back in 2002 by Timothy Peters. McCall was in control of the entire 150 laps and had a half-second lead over 2nd place when the checkered flag flew. After 6 tour stops so far, McCall regained the points lead and has 3 Sunoco Pole Awards, 2 victories, 3 top 5’s and 5 top 10’s. McCall also leads the way in laps led with 327, bonus points earned with 51, average starts with a 2.00 and money earned with $8875 on the season.

Matt McCall from Denver, NC will join Doc live on location this evening to discuss his 3rd UARA-STARS victory in 2009. In the 7 years of UARA-STARS competition the series has crowned 7 different champions. McCall, 2005 series champion, just may be on his way to becoming the first repeat champion. McCall Led the series championship standings by only 4 points over Jamey Caudill from Four Oaks, NC heading into Lonesome Pine Raceway. When the smoke cleared unofficially McCall now leads Caudill by 36 points. McCall has raced to 4 Sunoco Pole Awards, 3 Victories with 5 top 5’s, 6 top 10’s and leads the series in laps led with 477 of the 1,094 total laps in the 8 events for the UARA-STARS this season.
