The legendary and historic Wilson County Speedway needs and deserves a reunion. It's a concept well worth the effort for those that know "the lay of the land" in the Wilson community.........local political, business, and civic leaders. The reunion-type festivals are really gaining popularity, and typically draw thousands of fans to view and mingle with the old cars, drivers, and memorabilia.
The Historic Speedway Group's Occoneechee/Hillsborough festival has been drawing 40K fans to the old Occoneechee Speedway at their September event. A similar event will be held this April at the Columbia (SC) Speedway, and Darlington will host their 2nd annual Labor Day vintage racing festival. Wilson County fans..........give it some thought, it may not be the same as actual racing, but it's the next best thing, and who knows what might transpire!!
