Is the Reidsville track Rainbow Speedway ?

Dont know, Rainbow according to what I found ran only 2 years 77-78. The other Reidsville ran about 1948. 30 years between operations. Might be the same I am hoping someone "In the Know" up there will chime in.

I noticed there wasn't an Asbury Speedway listed. My dad raced there in the late 60's. Does that ring a bell to anyone?

Diamond speedway is in stokesdale on flatrock rd all the way to the end 4 or 5 years ago i was delivering lumber to a house on the road and me and a older fellow was talking about the track and he showed me were the track was its all growed up still there is the shape of the track...maybe we can go take pitcures of the old tracks and post them... Rainbow speedway is in reidsville with a mobile home in the middle of the track you would not think that it was a dirt track there..i hate to see tracks go under....sad days to see them close .....DIRT RACER FOREVER.....

The track in Lumberton is off of 72, I know somebody that used to race there. I'll talk to my boyfriend and see if I can get some more stuff about it, exact location (I forgot the name of the road right this second) and pics and start a thread for it.

That sounds right, I raced MX there from like 86' to 88' or something like that. It was at the end of Asbury Rd. or something like that. and it was an old farm road that went down to the river. Probably don'tlook anything like a round track now, didn't look too much like one then. But the track was only like 10 feet or so from the dirt road. It was on the left side of the dirt road right at the end of state maintenance.

Anyone have any info on Wayno's (wayne O's) Speedway. I know they were located in Western NC and ran motorcycles in the early 70's. Went there one time and was impressed. Old age has taken its toll on the details....

Is the Jacksonville speedway/Onslow Speedway the same as the Carteret County Speedway? Carteret is being rejuvinated. Will re-open (concrete) in 2010. People are buying "yards of concrete" as we speak; to re-pave the grand ole gal.

DoubleZero

No. The Jacksonville track was located in the Pumpkin Center community north of Jacksonville, and was in operation from the 1950's -1964. It is definitely a ghost track now. Carterette Co. Speedway is near Emearald Isle, and was is the site of the former kart track.
