I've been trying to find this for a while, and now you guys have my interest up in finding old tracks. Baylands Raceway Park, near Fremont California, was a bad-fast 1/2 mile dirt track, and a hotbed of sprint car racing in the Bay Area. I saw Swindell, Kinser, Sills, Wolfgang and other run (and win) there in the early 80s. They also ran late models now and then, and I actually saw a 2nd place finish (and briefly met) a young Scott Bloomquist and his father there in 81 or 82, before the family moved off back east to go racing.
There was 1/4 mile paved dragstrip that operated from 1959 through 1988 (although I never went). A 1/4 mile dirt oval operated from 1974 through 1980, which can be see at one end of the track.
