Carlton Coleman, 68, of Fredericksburg passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Mary Washington Hospital.
He was a two time Old Dominion Speedway Track Champion. He was a local Nascar Short Track racer from 1961-1973. In 1968 he was the Virginia State Sportsman Champion.
Carlton is survived by his wife, Penny of Fredericksburg; two sons, Steve Coleman and his wife, Karen of Fredericksburg and Mark Coleman of Fredericksburg; one brother, Cary G. Coleman and his wife, Carol of Fredericksburg; two nieces, Cassie Coleman and Christy Maynard; and one nephew, Tim Brown; two sister-in-laws, Lizabeth Graninger and Brenda Brown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Haws and Nettie Coleman and his grandson, Chad C. Coleman.
A graveside service will be held Monday, February 2, 2009 at 11:00 am at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3702 Loren Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22408, with the Rev. Jeffrey Smith officiating.
