Who does everybody think is going to take the RTM redman title this upcoming season? My pick because I think he got all of his bad luck out of the way last is AJ Winstead.

It'll be very interesting this upcoming season. Natrually AJ along with Doug Paasch should always be considered favorites for the title. Ronnie Davis, a former 2-time series champion I would say will be up there as well...he like AJ, had some bumps this season not of his doing. Scarbrough, depending on Aftershock Motorsport's schedule could be considered as well...if he had run the full schedule he would have been in the top 3 I am sure.

Rumor has it a few old faces will be returning to full time competition as well as a very large rookie class...hopefully all of those rumors will develop into fact and 2009 will be another competitive year full of different winners and tight points battles.

We'll have a good idea after this weekend's drivers meeting

So what did you learn from drivers meeting? Good turnout?

Turnout seems to be good, had about 17 teams there, another 5 or so say they will run who were in abstention, so about 20-23 team so far, which is good....others will trickle in as the season progresses.

Former Series Champions Ronnie Davis and AJ Winstead will return, both are always contendors for wins, also returning from a years absence will be Robert Conner and Marty Hanbury.

Also this year we have a very good rookie class, Johnny Petrozelle who ran briefly last year and showed lots of potential, will be a full time rookie in 2008, as well as newcomer Eldon Zacer, who hails from the midwest where modifieds are much bigger than here in the Southeast. And in the second year in the row, we will have another father/son team running for ROTY as Greg Burgess Jr. and Sr. will come up from Langley's division to compete with the tour.

All in all it should be a good year, we won't race until the 18th of April so hopefully many more will be added to the schedule prior to that date.
