The FASTRAK Racing Series will be doing almost all 1 day shows in 2009. "I appreciate our tracks, teams and sponsors in supporting this effort" stated Series Founder Stan Lester. "Its great to see everyone working together on this. I'm just proud of everyone at looking for an amicable way to solve the "expense" of traveling. Fuel is down right down but the economy is tough and this will help our teams. Helping our teams helps our tracks and the fans. Everyone benefits from this move".
In the past seasons of the FASTRAK Touring events were almost all $2000 to win shows with the $3000 and $5000 to win shows being two day events. "As of right now only one race is a $2000 to win event" said Michael Hurley PR Director of the Series. "The balance of the schedule is $3000-$5000 shows and they are all 1 day shows. Only the $10,000 to win events will be multi day events".
The shows will also host "BONUS" Mains for almost every event on the touring schedule allowing teams that do not make the main event not only a chance to win money but an opportunity to race as well. "We just wanted to give our teams a chance to not only get money back, but to actually race as well. I hate it when I see a team come and qualify, run heats, then a B main and still not make the show" stated Lester. "Seeing them load up and go home with nothing just doesn't set well with me. This way they have a opportunity to do both. Providing there isn't enough time to allow for a Bonus Main then part of their entry fee will be reimbursed".
