Who was it that had an ALL female pit crew in the 80's? Your answer will also answer my question cause I don't know the answer, I forget due to CRS.

i am pretty sure my mom tried out, if not had planned to. All PR stunt, talk about alotta TV press time. (once the vogue wore off they were replaced as they did not help his on track performance..... but he did gain a ton of female fans!!) (His daughter wendy is on speed tv now)

Like when my step dad worked for Donlavey when Mike Wallace drove the heilig meyers car...... first half of the season was devoted to racing, the second half was devoted to get TV time for the sponser. If that meant pitting outta squence, going a lap down on purpose to run with the leaders......an even if it meant wrecking....whatever it took to get HM some TV time.........

TV time, i would imagine an all female pit crew now would get some major news an maybe even some sponsership..... gimmicks!!

Great story Steve.
Ben Venturi must have struck out with the ladies so he hires an all girl pit crew and all of the sudden he's a one race wonder. Good plublicity stunt for sure and it took a Yankee to do it cause, no good red-blooded american southern democrat would have any part of THAT!!!
(all in fun folks, put your shotgun back down)
