2008 National Weekly Champion
Max Blair Wins Championship by 2 Points
FASTRAK City Chevrolet Weekly Racing Division Championship
Carnesville,GA (Oct-9) The peaceful and quaint little town of Titusville in Northwest Pennsylvania is perhaps better known to historians by virtue of the it’s importance to industry in America, namely the oil drilling industry, as Titusville is birth place of the ‘modern day’ oil drilling industry - founded in Titusville in 1859. Without question Titusville has played a significant role in shaping history and the way in which we live today, some 149 years later. In recent years, Titusville has provided the motorsports world with another piece of history, as Late Model driver and Titusville resident Robbie Blair has amassed over 90 wins and 5 track championships in just a handful of years. Still in his 30’s, Robbie Blair continues to inch closer to inclusion onto the elite list of premier marquee names in the world of Late Model dirt track racing. Today Titusville makes another entry into the history books adding to its proud heritage, as Max Blair, the 18 year old phenom and son of Robbie Blair, was named 2008 FASTRAK Racing Series City Chevrolet Weekly Racing Division National Champion.
In the inaugural year of the FASTRAK Racing Series City Chevrolet Weekly Racing Division Championship, the final points standings are reflective of two things; the competition in the FASTRAK Racing Series is unparalleled anywhere in the country as not only was Blair’s margin of victory just 2 points, there were also 5 ties in the top 30 money paying positions. In addition, only 45 points separated Blair from Concord NC’s Matt Long who finished 30th in the final point standings.
Comparatively speaking, one striking contrast which is hard to ignore; the Cup Series is only a handful of races into it’s chase to determine it’s champion and the spread from first to 12th is in the hundreds
Twenty seven weeks have passed since the 2008 FASTRAK Racing series began its 2008 campaign and approximately 810 races later Max Blair stands atop the heap of almost 400 drivers who have competed in FASTRAK Racing Series sanctioned events as:
