Rate your boss: Good, Bad, Down right sucks!

I've known my boss for over 20 years but have only worked for him for the past 5 years. I've always thought he was a bad leader before but, now that I work for him he is FAR worse of a manager than I realized. He is self-serving, bad trust issues, two-faced, spreads gossip, always chooses the slow and harder way over the faster and easy way, takes very little suggestions and excepts credit for others work but is quick to blame and not except responsibility. On top of all that...it's a great job and could be so much better without this idiots leadership skills or lack of.
Now before you say "Get another job!" I will and I am.
I have a good job and like the people I work with and would love to have my bosses job but he is beyond anything I've dealt with, and I've been around awhile.
What I would like to know what others think of their boss? Are they Good, Bad or Down right suck like mine?

Sorry to hear you have it so bad. I've worked with my Boss for 18yrs known him for 22yrs and wouldn't trade for the world do what he askes pre see what needs to be done stay busy .He always uses the quikest way safest way.Would even walk thru fire if he asked me to.Has taught a great deal to me,not one school could give you training of what FIELD EXPERIENCE gives you. ohhhhh god i dont even wanna tell u about mine! racist! she told my head,head boss that i was on my lunch break 4 2 hours but i was on it for 30 mins so then i talked to hear in a bad way then quit lol!

Funny you mention that in the first line above...that's why I'm venting my frustrations out here now...all over a simple but very ingnorant misunderstanding which resulted in the bosses total loss of composure and me cursing him out.
I'm glad to hear that he first person so reply IS happy with their boss and you have some good sense and advice. Thanks.

Boss, errrr. On a personnal level i think he is an ok guy, as a boss.....not so much so. He would not know how to do any work if his life depended on it. As a refinisher of semi trucks, there is alotta work involved......does he help. NO!! but he will come back to the body shop and tell us "to hurry up","we need to get these trucks out today" does he jump in an help? Nope.!! When we get the stuff done he takes the credit for being able to push his guys(that really burns me)....when he tries to cut corners and stuff dont turn out, he throws us under the "Bus" to the owner. When i was younger whatever, now its all i can do to hold back. Often times i say "f' it, he wants half a** i will be glad to give him half a**, reguardless i will be portrayed as half a** to the owner and him the hero. Its hard to do good work when all you heres is how bad it is, a few more years the kids will be older and i will load my guns and ride into the sunset........and never look back.

I had a job & boss for the last 15 yrs that i could not stand!!I work as a sheet metal press operator.My boss thought work comes before family & he would tell you that. You had to beg for a day off then it didn't mean you could get it. He thought you should be at work everyday.But back in the end of June of this year i had a job offer that feel right in my lap.I am now a emergency vet supervisor. I got the best boss in the world & its ME!!! The owner is the only one i have to answer to & he would give you the shirt off your back HONEST! The best & most understanding guy i have ever met!So i will say the boss & owner are great to work for!!:1stplace2::Deal:

It is good money and the hours are great and I really enjoy what I do and am next in line but your right, I cannot wait for someone to keel over to move up that's why I'm actively looking at 2 jobs that are just as good, if not better.
