OK, throughout the years, there has been an ongoing debate about which Pink Floyd member was the real "Pink Floyd." Old-timers call out to Syd Barrett, many people claim Roger Waters, and some claim David Gilmore (especially after the split back in the 80s.)
For me, I call Roger Waters the real "Pink" mainly because of his lyrics. The best Floyd albums came out while he was in the band, and even what I think is possibly the best song ever by anyone anywhere, Dogs (from the Animals album.) came from Roger. Even though Pink Floyd carried on, none of the albums were as good as during the Roger Waters years.
With Richard Wright's passing last week, I wonder if anymore PF music will come out, or if David Gilmore and Nick Mason will hang it up...

Personally, I think Pink Floyd is Pink Floyd, with that I have to say that Roger Waters brought things to this band that would be virtually impossible for anyone to do but I still don’t think he is more the ‘face’ of Pink Floyd than any of the others are.
With me not being able to say that anyone would member was/is greater than the other; the only think I can do is bring to light some of their major achievements and let them speak for themselves.

One more thing....most everthing I have ever learned about this band came from:
