All site rules still apply to this forum except the following.
Any posts in all caps, and or funny mixed case such as "hey can u c thiz? L8r!" will not be tolerated.
Thread titles should at the minimum indicate what the thread is about.
Please avoid posting or voting in outdated threads.
Appendix:
3. Post Whoring:
Post whoring is slang for spamming which is slang for posting lots of unwanted, unnecessary stuff. This can be further expanded as any inane, pointless, or useless posts. It should be kept to an absolute minimum in the technical forums (if at all) and kept in check in any off-topic thread/section such as General Discussions.
The following is considered spam / post whoring:
Very short posts that do not add value to the current discussion. (For example: a post with only the words "yeah me too!").
Double posts. Members should know that they can use the edit button to correct any mistake in their post or to append to it.
Posts that obviously serve no purpose other than to up ones' post counts.
Starting a new thread when a similar thread has already been started.
Posts that contain large amounts of similes and or spaces to make it look like they contain useful information, but aren't.
In short you may use this forum for any off topic discussions, hijacking etc.. Just be nice.

There is no point.
Not sure i understand the question, but what these rules say is you are allowed to hijack, post pad or whatever in this forum.
All posts made in the BS forum do not count towards your post counts, and are not indexed in the search either.

ever since i have joined, ive noticed that there is a good bit of discussion about high post counts....it seems like some of the members who give the one word answers and the pointless dribble are trying to reach some magic number of posts, even your response indicated that these posts dont count towards the post counts.....I guess my ?? is why would anyone care about how many posts they have??Is there some sort of grand prize for having the most or something?Heck,I just love getting on the site for the info(and to give jh a run ,when he says something ridiculous)Just curious about why some of the members would care, thats all....You coming to the thanksgiving race at dublin?

Good question. Highlighting something that simply shows how many times a member clicks the "submit reply" button will probably lead to more pointless dribble. I am in no way implying that many of those that post a lot only post pointless dribble. On the other hand, a show of the number of posts on a forum is a pretty useful metric in determining overall activity. So if you are trying to encourage activity, and using post count as a way to measure activity, it makes sense that you would highlight post counts in order to encourage users to post. Round and round we go.

No matter what forum you attend you will always see that post counts matter to several people. Particular the ones that work hard at adding useful info to the site.
We did use to post monthly the top posters of the month, but some used it to see how many bs post they could add.
The reason I say that you can post all the bs in this section is because the post don't count :)
