Atlanta Motor Speedway Adds FASTRAK Late Model Race to Sprint Cup Weekend

Carnesville, GA (Sep-21) – Atlanta Motor Speedway has partnered with the Fastrak Racing Series to bring upwards of 70 FASTRAK Late Models to the ‘Thunder Ring’ during the Sprint Cup race weekend. The 50-lap shootout will happen after Cup Qualifying on Friday, October 24. As many as 70, FASTRAK Late Models can be expected for this unique and unprecedented event. Heat races on Thursday will determine the 22 car starting field that will run 50 laps on the quarter-mile Legends track to decide the first ever FASTRAK Late Model Series winner at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
In a recent test session held on the ¼ mile oval, transponders supplied by the NASCAR Legends Series revealed by days end, FASTRAK Late Model Series drivers Chuck and Luke Laney were quickest, eclipsing the fastest lap times of 45 lighter and more maneuverable Legends cars on hand for a practice session of their own.
Fans can attend NASCAR Sprint Cup Qualifying and the FASTRAK Late Model Series race on Friday for just $20.
“We’re excited to add another exciting race to the Pep Boys Auto 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend, said Atlanta Motor Speedway president and general manager Ed Clark. “Having 22 cars on our quarter-mile short track will make for an action-packed event.”
Atlanta Motor Speedway is offering special ticket deals for the entire Pep Boys Auto 500 race weekend. Students can purchase tickets for the Pep Boys Auto 500 race for just $19 and adult tickets start at $39. And for just $39, fans can upgrade any “Sunday only ticket purchase” to a weekend pass that includes tickets for all three days of the NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend including the FASTRAK Late Model Series event on Friday.
The Atlanta Motor Speedway ticket office is now offering weekend hours to better serve race fans who want to purchase to tickets to events at the speedway. The regular hours for the ticket office are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and now through October 26 the ticket office will be open on Saturday’s from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday’s from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
