Posted: 09-18-2008 Potomac Speedway is gearing up for there annual Small Car Nationals on October 2 thru October 4, 2008. Raindate Sunday October 5, 2008


Race-Ceiver Radios are mandatory for all classes and are available for sale or rental at the front office.


On the schedule will be the 35 lap Late Model main paying $1000.00 to win, The 40 lap Street Stock main paying $1500.00 to win, The 30 lap Hobbystock main paying $500.00 to win, 25 lap 4 Cylinder main paying $500.00 to win, 25 lap Strcitly Stock main paying $250.00 to win and the 20 lap Hornet main paying $200.00 to win.


Thursday night October 2, 2008 will consist of open practice for all division's from 6pm to 9pm. Gates will open at 4pm. Admission for open practice is $20.00 pit admission, and free grandstand admission.


Friday Night October 3, 2008 will consist of the following.Warm Ups, Time Trials for Late Models and Street Stocks. Heat races for Late Models, Street Stocks, Hobbystocks, 4 Cylinders, and Strictly Stocks. The 25 lap Strictly Stock main event will be run, and dash races for the Late Models, Street Stocks, Hobbystocks and 4 Cylinders.


There is a $25.00 non- refundable pre registration fee for Late Models, Street Stocks, Hobbystocks and 4 Cylinders before September 27, 2008 and $50.00 at the gate if not pre registered.


Gates open Friday at 3pm, with drivers meeting 7:15 and warm-ups 7:30. The speedway is offering a 2 day pass for Friday & Saturday for pit admission $42.00 or Fridays Pit admission is $20.00, grandstand admission Friday is $12.00, with children 12 and under $5.00 in grandstands.


Saturday October 5, 2008 will consist of warm-ups, Heat races for the Hornets and feature events for the Late Models, Street Stocks, Hobbystocks, 4 Cylinders, and Hornets.
Gates open Saturday at 3pm, hot laps 6:30 and racing at 7pm. Pit admission for Saturday is $25.00, adult general admission is $20.00 with children 12 and under $5.00 in the grandstand area.


Drivers must be present Friday night in order to race Saturday Night. No exceptions.
Late Model Rules:


Mufflers are mandatory, weight 2350, spoiler 8" (72" max) 14" wheels, 360 or smaller 4 barrel, over 360 2 barrel, aluminum heads must run 2 barrel, gas or alcohol,, tire rule: Hoosier Spec 11 or harder, Hoosier Economy 1300 or harder, American Racer 38 or harder.


4 Cylinder Rules:
Mufflers mandatory. No tube frames allowed, no nitrous oxide


Street Stock Rules:
Mufflers mandatory, Bodies must be of original factory design, Suspension: no coil overs, no 4 link, no 5th arms, no tube chassis, all cars must weigh 2900, no quick change rears, engine must be all steel block & heads, no roller cams or dry sumps, carburetors: must be one 500 cfm 2 barrel gas only. Holley 4412 or Keith Dorton 80583. Only changes are jets, power valve & squirter, transmissions must be of stock type; no berts, brins, etc, wheels cannot exceed 12' steel only. Tire Rule Spec Tires only Hoosier 11 or harder, American Racer 38 or harder. No driver allowed to race Street Stock if driven a Super Late Model 3 or more times in 08 season.


30 Street Stocks will start the event, 28 locked in thru time trials and heat races, with 2 provisionals. (1) provisional highest Potomac Points car, and (1) provisional highest time trial not in

My car will be there but it will be driven by Kyle Hardy. It should be a great weekend!
