Wayne "BIGKID" Spangler Rolling Thunder race director and promoter has been diagnosed with Leukemia & Lymphoma. He is a long time race fan, driver and director. He is and has been a great friend to all of us.
We would like to ask your help with money donations to help him and his family through this expensive medical treatment as Wayne is not covered under any insurance. He will be starting his treatments on Tuesday, September 16, 2008. We want him to get the best medical treatment possible so he will be around for his family and all of us.
We need the race community to come together as one big family to help Wayne in his time of need, just as we know he would do for us.
Money donations will be taken Friday, September 19, and Friday, September 26, 2008 at Rolling Thunder Speedway, at the pit gate, concession stand and grandstand ticket gate. The drivers will also be coming around to collect donations in their helmets. If Friday is not a good time for you to donate then please send checks or money orders made payable to Wayne Spangler and send to Gary and Alesia Nester, 3532 Friends Mission Rd. Ararat, VA. 24053.
Most all of us know Wayne from years past as a driver at several different tracks. He has raced in several divisions from go carts, 4 wheelers to racecars. He has also been a Flagman at New 311 Speedway and other tracks. We will miss Wayne for the rest of the 2008 season.
Let's all pray for a speedy recovery so Wayne can join us for the 2009 season.
