You have to understand the mindset of alot of folks around these parts. They grew up in the texitile mills. Its all they know. Now they are left with nothing and they will fall for any promise someone will make to help them. Very short sighted.
But here is a little more enlighted board around the RR area.

Palin IS hot...she is Miss September, can't wait for the centerfold.
I think a lot of industry job losses can be contributed to the Clinton era of NAFTA...NAFTA cost the U.S. more jobs than any other modern day program. It presented big businesses with the golden egg of lower wages and no unions in places like Mexico, India and China. The Clinton era killed the American worker.
For those of you that put faith in Obama and his Socialist army, you can plan on them taking more of what you have and giving to those who want it for nothing. His plan is to help those who WON'T help themselves. Don't be a sheep and follow a shepherd, make your own path.

I couldn't agree with you more. NAFTA is the reason jobs have left this country. We just found out that our sister company in Mebane has shifted their production and packaging to Mexico. Their orders are still taken in Mebane, and partially shipped from Mebane. Wonder how long before it will be us? Obama has no clue to what it means to run anything. The only thing he knows how to run is his mouth. I have to admit, I was once one of those brainwashed by Obama. I'm sure Dwayne or one of the moderators can dig up enough to prove that point, but no longer. One other thing, I'm sick and damn tired of everyone blaming Bush for high gas prices and the slumping economy. Let's see here... all we have to do is take a close look at who is running Congress and the House. Not Republicans, it's Democrats. I even think at this point and time, my great grandfather would have switched to the Republican side. There ain't no such thing as a Southern Democrat anymore.

My parents always voted Democrat but that was when Democrats stood for the American working class and not all these other people with their arms out stretched for a free handout. I'm more a Libertarian, I've voted Dem and Rep. I'm not always happy with the results either. Bottom line is they are ALL politicians and out for personal gain and power. I'm not a big fan of McCain, he sure wasn't my first choice. Surprisingly I took this questionere (sp?) and Fred Thompson came out on top on the issues that were most in line with my values. He wasn't my first choice either but we are dealt our 2 "jokers" and have to pick one. Oh boy.
I wish there would be no party nomination and let the campaign ride it out with all the candidates and let the people decide in the end who will be president.

Heres my problem with the nafta topic. I agree with you 100%, it was horrible for american jobs, however, do some research and find out who supports nafta now. The answer is McCain. Mccain wants to keep nafta, with no changes. The republican platform now supports nafta, why? Makes the rich richer. Obama's position on nafta is to have it rewritten if possible or throw it completely out. Even the Clintons now say nafta was good idea in principle but did not work and must now be changed or abolished.
Now before yall start bashing me on this, I don't support obama, and I don't support Mccain. I'm still undecided, and prolly will be until election day, because to tell you the truth I can't stand either one of em.

I would strongly recommend watching the dvd, "Obsession-Radical Islam's War Against The West" -Then all you Obama supporters will have a head start on what to expect in this country, in the coming years, if he's elected. Think our democracy sucks now, just wait! If Obama is elected you will see democracy go out the window, and hello Socialist government.

I also wanna shed some light on Michelle Obama's thesis, she wrote at Princeton University(1985).
The thesis is divided into 4 parts (online), I couldn't stomach reading past the 1st part, so you guys will have to take on upon yourselves to finish where I left off.
All of Michelle Obama's research and opinions are based on black radical activists (Stokely Carmichael,Charles Hamilton) who tried to achieve peace through violence and hate, unlike Dr. Martin Luther King. No where in her thesis does she even mention Dr. King. Now, the scary part.
Here is a small quote from her thesis;
The concept of Black power rests on the fundamental premise: Before a group can enter the open society, it must close ranks. By this we mean that group solidarity is necessary before a group can operate effectively from a bargaining position of strength in a pluralistic society. What does that mean?....It means in order for blacks to effectively be able to co-exist with whites, wealth should be equally distributed. Michelle Obama doesn't think you should have 20 percent black families poor and 80 percent white families middle-class, she thinks you should take some away from the whites and give to the blacks to equal out the ratio to make it 50/50. She also thinks that for example, you have 20 percent of black men working a particular job at lower wages, than 20 percent of white men should be doing the same role. She doesn't think whites should be dominate.
another quote from her thesis:
My experiences at Princeton have made me far more aware of my 'blackness' than ever before. I have found that at Princeton, no matter how liberal and open-minded some of my white professors and classmates try to be toward me, I sometimes feel like a visitor on campus; as if I really don't belong. Regardless of the circumstances underwhich I interact with whites at Princeton, it often seems as if, to them, I will always be black first and a student second.By reading her hypotheses, it's clear she isn't too brilliant. Any one on this site could have draw the same damn hypotheses, without much thought. She states that the more a individual spends with another group, the more that individual will be familiar with the certain group. If the individual spends more time with his own group, then he will be more familiar than if he was with the other group more. With blacks and whites being her independent variables.

all the kids in 4th peroid the other day was talking about obama and how he was going to win! and i talked back about how he was a lier and he said that he went to 57 states and we only got 50 then i asked the class saying do yall even watch the news!

I kinda think you missed this one, but the statement was 57 stops in a certain period of time. He has to the 50 states in the primary and then he started going back to some of the states twice, for instance he's been in NC four times, he went to FL. 6 times in something like 2 or 3 days....................... I think is what they are saying.

We might as well give Obama a try. If we live long enough we might see a mexican running for president. In the years to come the mexican's will out number the whites or blacks. What if you had to choose between Obama or a illegal mexican as your president ?:18lol:

Charlie Daniels vs Obama 1 Week, 2 Days ago
Karma: 4
Since I identify with the people who fall into Barrack Obama's elitist description about people of faith who keep firearms I'm not very happy with Barrack Obama's recent remarks.
He said something to the effect that us rednecks cling to our guns and our religion when we get frustrated and I would like to take umbrage to these remarks. My faith goes much deeper than his superficial explanation and I love my guns even when I'm not frustrated.
And I am not by myself. I was going to church and shooting guns before Mr. Obama was even born and come from a long line of good people who have been doing it for generations.
To me this latest Obama blunder only helps reveal the depth of condescension the far left wing of the Democrat party has for the folks out here in flyover country.
Mr. Obama's remarks are insulting to a lot of folks. It's kind of like Abraham Lincoln said, 'God must love the common people because He made so many of them'.
His remarks make me think that Obama doesn't know the people of this country very well. I'm sure he knows the jet set and the Hollywood bunch, the limousine liberals and the save the whales, kill the babies crowd, but does he think that the ordinary people don't count? Does he think that they're so stupid that they don't know who he's talking about when he says these things? Does he think their opinions aren't important?
Apparently.
How can a man stand in front of America and tell people what he wants to do for them and have so little respect for a whole segment of the population? In fact, a very large segment. Does that mean that he would only represent the high-minded liberal ideals of the far left and ignore the rest of us?
What kind of Commander and Chief would he make if he doesn't respect the very people who make up the lion's share of the armed forces?
You may say I'm over reacting, but I'm getting sick and tired of him making these elitist statements and saying that he had been taken out of context or some other flimsy excuse.
After his wife's remark about not being proud of this country and his pastor's statements calling America the U.S.K.K.K.A. and his own statement about not wanting his daughter punished with a baby, it makes me wonder what kind of a man Obama really is and what kind of a President he'd make.
Would he be an antigun advocate pushing the effort to take the firearms out of innocent citizen's hands? Would he not respect the religious beliefs of America, not taking them into account in his agenda?
I really don't know much about the man and neither does America. He basically came from out of nowhere and as the facts come out little by by little, they don't make a particularly confident picture. I have a great fear that if our military gets broken by another president, this time we're not going to have time to fix it again and what that spells for America, I don't even want to contemplate. Oh well, I guess I'll grab my gun and go to church.
Pray for our troops. What do you think?
God Bless America
Charlie Daniels
I tend to agree with about everything Charlie Daniels says

You're right, that's a little harsh. Maybe Obama will pull a Senator Larry Craig in some bathroom, at some NAACP conference. And maybe Al Sharpton will walk in and catch him playing footsie with Reverend Jeremiah Wright. :smiley_601:
