More "old Fayetteville" Race car pics!!

Capefear01 or anyone else,do you have any pics( like the jack smith pic that capefear01 posted)? Something like Chubby Tompkims #96,Monk Hair#7,Glen Mcduffie#70 and later #77 or anything like that of any driver that ran back then in Fayetteville!! Also,anybody remember when Fayetteville Speedway used to be Cumberland Speedway and was a paved track? Oh man,Butch Lindley,Jack Bland,Dale Earnhardt,Eddie Royster,Harry Gant,Al Grinnon,The four cars from the Junior Johnson stable 1,8,18,and 81 cars!! Anybody got pics from these days? Please post them!!!!

Oh, by the way. Those drivers and cars ran somewhere in the 70's. Can't pin point the exact year or years! 1973 or 75 maybe. I,m talking about at the Cumberland Speedway!

Cumberland Speedway

"Cumberland Speedway opened as a half-mile, high-banked asphalt oval, adjacent to Interstate 95. Dale Earnhardt won twice there in 1978 before launching his full-time NASCAR career the following season. The track's asphalt was later torn up, and the track is still in operation today as a 4/10ths-mile dirt track under the name Fayetteville Motor Speedway." - 3rd Turn

You may have already seen this photo on FMS forum but here's a photo of Herb Thomas way back in 1953 at the Harnett County Speedway in Spring Lake, NC. Herb won in the one and only nascar event held there and, here's the website to the Dunn newspaper article about the track. Very interesting.
