Hello race fans!

This forum is for past and present fans of vintage racing of all types, from modifieds to sprints, late models to nascar, this forum will entertain any and all forms of auto racing history news and discussion.
I welcome you and hope you come back to post your own message about racing backing in the day, from the 1920's 30's 40's, it's all welcome here, 1970's or 80's. There is a growing population in the South East that want's to tell their story or read some stories of what it was like back when. Many vintage racing enthusiast own vintage cars but don't know where to meet people like themselves with the same passion and interest. Here's your site.
I know there are other vintage forum sites but I've gone and asked localracechat.com to create a new forum, one that is more regional, not in California but right in your home town and all around you. This is a good place to advertise our sport instead of using the big sites, this way we can generate an interest with the locals (meaning S/E region) since many of NC, SC, VA, WV, TN, GA, AL, FL and KY track fans and drivers use this site, it's a great promotional tool to get the word out. Would like to hear from some past drivers or any track photographers, promoters, etc. get involved with this forum. We have 6 months to generate some interest or it gets deleted. At least maybe post a photo or a comment once a week until more people find out about it. You will have to sign up of course before you can use it.
I've posted this introduction now it's up to all of us to add to it. Feel free to jump right in...pass the word along, it might also interest in the son's and daughters of past drivers to get in on it. There is a group of us from N.C. that actually own vintage modifieds and recently attended the Darlington Historical Race Show this past Labor Day weekend. We plan to put on some exhibitions throughout the state and if you know of anybody that is interested in displaying their car and possibly getting in a few laps for the crowd we'd like to hear from you, we can promote our sport and hobby faster with more coverage and hopefully bring a few more fans in along the way to see us at the track.
Finally, when we do go to any exhibitions at locals tracks this forum would also help which ever track we show up at to bring whole different type of crowd.
I've said enough, now it's your turn to start a thread.
See ya later...

A few years ago I saw some race at Oglethorp. The last time I saw some race were at Concord Motorsports Park last year at the North/South shootout. I think there were only like 6 cars though, a couple modifieds, one or two old street stck, and even a jalopy.

I think there's a series that runs up around the northeat, but only go about as far south as Delmar.

There's not many of us that actually want to "race" so much as these parts are hard to come by now days but there's always exhibition racing.
Many of the club cars are more modern than they are vintage with a few exceptions but I'm not taking anything away from those guys, they can sure put on a show.
