5th Annual Pro Late Model Nationals
Second ‘Main Event’ Added To Pro Late Model Nationals
Wythe Raceway, August 30-31
$10,000 To Win/$500 To Start Weekend Gets Bigger
Carnesville,GA (Aug-22) The FASTRAK Late Model Series announced today the addition of a second main event to this weekends stellar Pro Late Model Nationals at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va. The Pro Late Model Nationals is the brainchild of Wythe Raceway owner Fred Brown which he began 5 years ago. This year’s installment is a 75 lap, 32 car event paying a hefty $10,000 to the winner. Each driver making the field will earn at least $500 just for making the field.
As the FASTRAK Late Model Series continues to grow at a blistering pace with swelling car counts and huge crowds at almost every venue, the 5th Annual Pro Late Model Nationals could very well approach a record in terms of the total event car count for a FASTRAK Late Model series event not part of the FASTRAK Late Model Series $250,000 Grand Nationals.
Because of the number of teams that are expected this weekend, FASTRAK Late Model Series Founder and CEO Stan Lester announced from Rural Retreat, VA today, the addition of a second Main Event as part of 5th Annual Pro Late Model Nationals. Recalling his days as a driver, Lester stated “when I drove, there was nothing more disappointing than traveling to a race event and not getting to be a part of the show. A racer comes to race, so with the help of Wythe Raceway owner Fred Brown, drivers here this weekend that don’t make the $10,000 to win race will be in a paid Main that will start as many as 32 cars as well. The payout will be based on the number of entries for the entire weekend.
Lester added “while we had planned for the possibility of a non qualifiers feature, or B Main, I’d like to stop short of calling it that, if for no other reason, I don’t know that I’ve seen many of those that started as many as 32 cars. The drivers that have raced under the FASTRAK Racing Series banner all year deserve to be a part of one of our biggest weekends of the year. FASTRAK has always been about putting ‘racing back in the hands of the driver’, and I hope what we’ve added to this weekend echoes that.
Partners of the FASTRAK Racing Series Include: Goodyear Racing, GM Performance Parts, Sunoco Race Fuels, Modern Chevrolet, City Chevrolet, Heintz Performance, Duralite Wheels, Schoenfeld Headers, Mastersbilt Racing Chassis, TNT Racing Chassis, Rocket Racing Chassis,Goliath Racing Chassis, MK-Direct
*THE FASTRAK DIRT LATE MODEL SERIES is based on the GM crate engine program using both the 602 and 604 engine types. All teams utilize Goodyear Racing Tires as the “spec tire” allowing team’s tremendous savings in both engine and tire expense. The National Championship of the FASTRAK RACING SERIES is one of the largest in the United States.
