True, it's not racing at Dublin, but some DMS regulars appear to be heading to the Sugar Creek Raceway in Union, SC for the 1st annual Ice Bowl. The Jan. 13-14th event will not feature the SLM division, but will have the limited (steel) late models. Good luck guys from the 'under the tree' crowd, we'll be pulling for you!!

Ok tuff choice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go to the race in SC or go to eat with LRC?????? Due to other things I might have to skip the race, but its tempting.

South Carolina Ice Bowl"
The Inaugural South Carolina Ice Bowl will be held at Sugar Creek Speedway on January 12,13,14 of 2006. This race promises to be the biggest race ever put on at Sugar Creek. Cars from all over the South and East will make their debut for the 06 season here at Sugar Creek Speedway. Mark this one on your calender and start making plans for this once a year event. Classes that will run are Latemodel, GM Proformance Latemodels, Stock 4, Super Stock 4, Super Modified 4, Stock 8, and Renegades. Mike Duvall in the Finstone F1yer is already entered and look for lots of his friend to race at this one. Look for Dennis "Rambo" Franklin, Big John Pursley, Ron Parker, and many more.

Sugar Creek is a super fast, 3/8 mile clay oval which has under gone a complete recovery during the past season. Sugar Creek Speedway is located in Union County, South Carolina. The track is near Buffalo SC on Mt. Lebanon Rd. To get to the track from Union SC and Hwy. 176 you go West on Hwy. 215 for 6 3/10 miles. Sugar Creek Speedway sign is on the right side of the road. Turn left onto Mt. Lebanon Rd. and go 2 1/10 miles. Sugar Creek Speedway is on your left.
From I-26: Take exit #44, Hwy. 49. Turn toward Union and go 3 1/10 miles to Cross Anchor. At the stop light turn left on Hwy. 56. You will come to an intersection, bare right and follow Hwy. 56. From the stop light at Cross Anchor you go 4 8/10 miles to Shealton Rd. A Sugar Creek Speedway sign marks this road. Turn right for 2/10's of a mile to Toal Rd. Turn right and go for 1 8/10 miles. Turn right on Mt. Lebanon Rd. and go 1 3/10 miles to the entrance of Sugar Creek Speedway on your right. ***NOTE*** When you leave the track to go home the name of Toal road is Dutchman Cr. Rd.--- Union County and Spartanburg County have different names for the same road

According to our "Dublin Reps" who were at the Ice Bowl, no DMS cars were present. Oh Well! Must be saving their stuff for DMS's grand opening!!
